Question Running in a new M235i

Hi all,
New to the site and new to the world of BMW.
Picked up my M235i just a few days ago and so far im loving it.
I am however a little confused with one thing.... Running the car in.
The salesman i spoke to at the garage said that there is no need to run the car in, however in the handbook it does say to run the car in for the first 1200 miles.

Curious to know what you guys and gals done with your new cars??

Thanks.

Just don't labour the engine, no high or constant rpm and avoid sudden kickdowns...

There's no actual running in service required, but just take it easy for the first 1200 miles, no launches etc and you'll be fine 👍🏻

Just hard not to squeeze that pedal down a little bit. Ill try and contain myself for a while though. Dont want to do any long term damage.

Worst thing you can do to a engine is baby it. Just look up any new engine break in procedure. No sustained RPM or loads. Start off easy, then gradually bring the load up. Full throttle by 200 miles. The rings need to see the load for proper ring seal. My latest lsx engine went 50 miles before it went on the dyno for multiple 1000hp+ pulls.
