Aluminum mirror caps?

Has anyone ever done or seen an F30 with aluminum mirror caps? Something similar to an Audi S4. I have a black 340i with the brushed aluminum trim and don't know if I want to go the full blackout look.

Not mine, but for your visual reference.

Not sure if it’s my thing or not, but it is refreshing to see something other than black or carbon fiber.

Yeah, I feel like everyone is blacking out the entire car. I was wanting something different.

Not everyone

I started a tradition of using two colors on my mirror caps on all my cars after being forced to do it once (replacement mirror cap in the correct color took a month from overseas after someone clipped it)

I can't tell, but the colors seem very purple and gold. Are these by choice?

100%, after that incident with my other car I did it for all my mirrors

My 124 has a color shifting right mirror and a left mirror matched to the ND Miata's blue as a kind of reference to it's Mazda roots

It's subtle enough that in person most people don't notice it (since you're usually only looking at one side of the car), kind of like my own personal easter egg

Also yup, an old favorite road of mine

It's a shame about the speed limit being added though

And it's ironic, the locals cut the double yellow no matter how slow they're going. It almost feels like now people cut even more than they did when only state limits applied

Only if the aluminum cap matched the rims. Else it seems misplaced.

What did they drop it to? (not that it matters anyways)

That is great area of the country. I loved driving through there many years ago when I lived in Blacksburg. I had an old 5.0 mustang and used to have a blast.

On dark colored cars or red cars these can look great and a nice nod to Audi S cars design coming from Late 90s. Do it.

Not sure Id put them on silver car but it also could look good.

I did the Ferric Grey mirror caps from an M235i. It gives the m performance look, and it ties it to my rims which are machine finish with ferric grey.
