Few shots and a few thoughts on my M235i

Some things I love:
1. The engine sound is fantastic. I think best in class.
2. Base 10 speaker stereo is actually quite good.
3. Eco pro mode is actually really nice when you want to just chill.
4. Door trigger for trunk is so handy.
5. Auto down and up on windows works flawlessly unlike my VW GTI.
6. This car is quick and a blast to drive!
7. Seats are superb and very comfortable.
8. Auto hold feature is actually really useful and a great feature to have.
9. Turning radius is excellent and handling is very fun although my out going VW GTI handled better.
10. Taillights are super cool.
11. Ambient lighting is lovely.

Some things I don't love
1. Apple car play is spotty. Probably not B&Ws fault but it is definitely buggy.
2. Getting my phone off the wireless charger requires two hands and a bit of wiggling it free.
3. Suspension is a bit stiff.
4. Foot operated trunk is highly unresponsive.
5. Air conditioning is not cold enough.
6. Gas mileage is not great.
7. No dedicated sunglasses storage. (Although I solved this with an aftermarket solution).

Congrats looks good.

For the phone entry / exit from the wireless pad, you can unclip the front gripper bit. Much better for modern phablet phones I think.

Great tip! I will look into that. Thanks!

It's a shame we don't have the internal boot release on the drivers door here in the UK. I wonder if it's possible to retro fit?

Pretty car. Love that interior color combination.

I have a 228i, but still agree with your lists. The car does sound nice, but I admit that I switched the fake exhaust sound to "reduced". I've been doing a whole lot of "eco pro" long-distance driving lately - my mileage is a bit over 32 MPG (not bad, but not great). Totally agree about the foot-triggered trunk release, it's real hit-or-miss. Max A/C mode works pretty well for me, automatic mode takes a while to compensate on a hot day but can maintain OK.

Foot activated truck is 100% user error. Also on the stiff suspension, it's a m235i not a 228. Apple CarPlay issues, update to the latest software or have an iPhone that a 11 or newer.

I don't know about the foot sensor being completely user error. I've seen lots of other people complain and I have waved my foot around underneath there like a crazy person with no response. I've tried forward back left right I'm not sure what else to do. I pretty much never works when I want to.

Absolute statements of blame aside, trying to follow the instructions to a "T" is important. Stand behind the car, about an arm's length away and slowly swing your right foot towards the front of the car, under the bumper to the right of the license plate, and let it swing straight back. It takes a moment to register and then the lights will flash and the trunk opens. Sometimes.

I seriously thought about an M235 instead of the 228, but one of several reasons I went with the lower-end car was that the roads in most places where I drive aren't that great. If I still lived in the Southeast, didn't already have a bad back & neck, or the 235 dampeners were adjustable it might have been different.

I've had 100's of customers at my dealer come through saying they cannot for the life of them get it to work. I walk up and get it to work in front of them 100% of the time. Hence why I said it's 100% user error.

Well, maybe it can be mastered but I think it's a poor design that requires such skill and precision to correctly use the feature.

My only advice with the foot sensor is just go directly in and out roughly in the centre of the boot. It doesn't usually work with side to side movements, you essentially have to kick your foot under the car just forward and backwards.
