Feature or color

Hi, I am new to this, and I am going to get an X3. There are two choices: white exterior color(NO HUD) and dark Graphite exterior color with HUD. I like white color more, but I like HUD a lot. I am concerned that dark Graphite color is hard to keep clean. Also, the car with dark Graphite may look very old. Thanks for your opinions and help ahead of time.

I would personally go for the Grey with HUD as I don’t mind keeping on top of keeping my car clean and think the grey looks good. Although depends on where you live I suppose.

Find something with the features you want.
Color is secondary and be changed easier than adding tech in many cases.

Dark Graphite is probably the easiest color to keep looking clean because a lot of dirt just blends in. Also it has a lot of metallics in it so it looks great, certainly not old. Really sparkles in the sun.

I specifically chose it when ordering my X3.

once you have HUD you can never not have HUD. same goes for heated steering wheel. Dark Graphite IMO is better than boring white.

New, detailed white cars can look nice, but they quickly develop rental/work vehicle vibes. Only looks good on certain vehicles, like the 370Z or TT.

I have the graphite and love the color, especially all the different shades you get in different light, BUT, it is hard to keep clean. The pollen loves to stick to it. I am washing it weekly right now, but I am also battling a ton of bugs which would probably be worse on white.

MY19 X3 was alpine with msport package. White gets dirty quick just like any dark color.
MY21 X3 is dark graphite with msport package. i keep it in the garage all the time.

Those dark metallic colors are pretty played out.. I would custom order in this situation, but if you must go off the lot I'd pick the white, myself.

I love my DG over cognac...ordered it 2 1/2 years ago, wash it religiously, and it looks amazing. That said, I've also loved my Imperial Blue and Tasman Green 3 series cars and my wife's Phytonic Blue. I guess that means I'd go w/ the feature.

Well, I would vote both, so why comprise, order the features you want in the color you want. This way you also get a vehicle that many other people didn’t test drive and beat on and you will have nothing to regret.

The mineral white or graphite both look good a regular X3. If it’s a M40i, I’d go with a dark color. Our M40i is Phytonic Blue.

I was just reading that the 2022s are going to have the mild hybrid technology like the X5. At this point I would wait and order one of those.

Why are you drawn to the mild hybrid technology? What advantages do you find while driving?

Right, loose on the 0-60, adds complexity and repair cost after the warranty is over and some questionable design. I doubt that I will go for a 2022.

Definitely would love to see a few more colors. More than just whites blacks and grays.
