After market alloys?
As per title I am looking for a set of bmw after market 19” alloys for my f31. I can’t afford genuine bmw due to the high price but need some advice on after market units.
I currently have 403m’s on run flats. Tyres are nearly new and would like to put them on any new wheels purchased. 405m are nice! Any advice on where to buy etc? Thanks |

Loads of genuine BMW wheels on eBay/this forums.
Be careful of buying non genuine copies as the quality sometimes isn't great.

I'd get genuine ones if they weren't so expensive, so if people have had decent experience of non-OEM wheels, it can save a small fortune.

The problem with non-genuine isn't so much that they're all bad but that they are sometimes quite variable with regards consistency even from the same company. I've got replicas of the Prodrive PFF7's as one of the sets of wheels for my Impreza and they've taken more abuse than the genuine ones I had before! A mate of mine used them as his tarmac rally wheels for a while too and they stood up well. Others report them being made of chocolate - go figure. Wheels do come up for okay money if you keep an eye out on here, certainly at a good enough price that they're a much better consideration than some unknown cheap aftermarket ones (vs high end aftermarket which are a different ballgame). I picked up a spare set of 403M's for my winter wheels on here for a great price thanks to Alscoob last year so they do exist. And if you want to swap then you should be able to recover a fair bit of your money by selling your existing wheels. I get that the 403M's are one of the less valuable OEM 19" wheels but people do still want them.

I was looking at some aftermarket alloys as I now have 18"s on my present car, and previously had 19"s on my old F32. Mainly looking for aesthetic reasons.
But, I have grown to like the 18"s and the ride comfort. And not being diamond cut means I am not so cautiously driving around kerbs feeling like my alloys are made of cut glass. Another major factor was weight. Most after market mainstream alloys (not forged) usually add a few kilos per wheel in unsprung weight. Many after market manufacturers don't quote weight - you have to really dig to find it out. (Good manufacturers sometimes have Tüv certificates where they quote weight.) D.

After market alloys?
Not sure if of interest but I'll have a set of OEM 19" 442M with Pzero runflats for sale soon.
Only a few mm tread above markers but in good condition. |
