Screen Blanked Out CIC 2011 E92

I installed a new screen in my 2011 e92. It was working fine. As was reinstalling trim, I had accidentally let the better run down pretty low as i had doors open. The screen appeared to suddenly shut off. The head unit still lights up but no radio, cd. In fact the CD player will not accept CDs.

I did run my carly adapter and it came up with a 00A468 fault code (No LVDS signal/Errors in video signal/cable break externally/Energy saving mode active.

I thought it might be the fiber optics cable but its working. Anyone experienced this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your battery is fully charged and you should get it all back working again properly, funny things these batteries they create all sorts of anomolies when going flat. How old is your battery? Could require replacing altogether!!

Thanks,

The battery is around 5 years old.

I did charge the battery and started the car to no avail. I am wondering if i disconnect the battery for a bit and reconnect (sort of like a reset)

Could it be a fuse?

The reason I suggested the battery was because this happened to me only two weeks ago. I could still open and start the car without issue but the CIC didn't operate at all or would randomly start once I'd been driving for a while, once I change the battery it was perfectly fine. And a 5 year old battery is borderline, so if you've had issues I'd seriously be looking at it for changing, local weather conditions, how it's used etc all add up to differing degrees of wear on the battery, so there is no hard and fast rule on when they should be changed.

I dont think so. It still lights up and everything. Its like the screen shut off like turning off a television. it happened to do that as the battery ran low.

I noticed that the green fiber optic cable that plugs into the head unit does no longer have a red light when the vehicle is powered on. There also appears to be no signal coming out the corresponding area on the head unit,

Would there be fuse that controls that?

Glad you've managed to find the fault, but a bit worrying that a fuse blows! A battery going flat shouldn't cause a fuse to blow, I'd be looking into why it's blown.
