Driver Profiles?

What is the advantage of setting up a driver profile, it seems pretty vague to me?

If more than one person drives your car, it will change settings depending on the driver
If you drive more than one BMW, such as a loan car when you take yours in to the workshop, the settings can be automatically applied to the loan car
If you change cars, the settings can be applied to the new vehicle
