Anyone else ever had issues with Bosh wiper blades?

I am on my second pair of Bosh wiper blades I purchased off of FCP.

The first pair I brought, every time I used the blades when it rained they would continuously skip over the windshield. Making a loud ass noise that would piss me off. Even when it was pouring and the windshield was nicely lubed or wet, the blades would still skip over the windshield.

So, I contacted FCP and let them know what's going on and they sent me a pair of Bosh wiper blades for free (they took the old ones) and the damn new ones are doing the same damn skipping bs . The blades are like hell 1.5 months old? This is the second time I've used them since I put them on the car.

I cleaned the windshield, cleaned the blade's rubber with rubbing alcohol, checked the angle of the wiper arms and the damn blades still keep skipping over my windshield.

What brand blades are you guys running? Genuine BMW, Valeo, or?

Here are the blades I am talking about. Total shit imo

I buy the super cheap-o wipers at the parts store and just replace them frequently.

They behave the same way, skipping and jumping at low temps. Above about 60 the autozone branded mono-blades follow the glass properly.

It was 65 out today when it was raining. The wipers still skipped like crazy

I been running Bosch for alittle over a year now from FCP Euro and have no complaints. They dont skip like you experience but they are also for 2009+ years.

I been waiting for them to start streaking so i can get a free pair but maybe this winter. I wonder what they changed from 2009+..

That's a problem with glass that's *too* squeaky clean. Have you clay barred for embedded contaminants and have you applied a sealant? As smooth as glass appears it's incredibly porous at the surface, you need to remove the stuck in stuff and seal it up.

I did clay bar it I think.

The old Genuine BMW wipers I had didn’t skip on the windshield. They did however smear water since the rubber was going bad.

This is one area where going Genuine BMW made a big difference for me. FCP was great about handling the exchange.

You think? Go do it again and use window cleaner for lube, then seal it with something. The old blades didn't chatter because they were worn smooth, that's also why they didn't work.
I've always used rain-x but just tried Griot's Garage sealant, it goes on good time will tell if it lasts. In the meantime I hardly need my wipers and when I do they don't chatter.

I think I’ll clay the windshield again and see if things approve. If not, time to part out the car

Absolutely, I'd be looking at a Prius that can't be saved.

Seriously tho, they chatter because the glass is mostly clean, but has enough rough spots to set a nice sharp wiper blade edge vibrating. Put your hand in a sandwich bag and run it over the glass (works on paint too) you'll be surprised how rough it is even when it looks clean. You need to put some effort into decontaminating it, glass cleaner and paper towels won't cut it. If you want to show the proper love for your E90, which I know you do you'll get some ceriglass polish and exfoliate the glass before you seal it. You can't just clean glass, that is like polishing your car and not putting any wax or sealant on it, it's not properly protected until you seal it.

Yeah that's exactly what happened with me and those same Bosch blades. I got the Valeos they offer and they worked great.

That's a little extreme but you seem to be falling in love with Mustangs lately so I guess if it makes you happy to part out your BMW I'm sure you can find some buyers in the classified section.

Had the same problem with the Bosch icons. OEM Valeo work perfectly - no skipping at any speed.

I'm not sure what level of Bosch you bought? I've always bought mine at Autozone or Amazon. The Bosch ICON series are "money".

+1 for the Valeo from FCP. My windshield is only 2 years old though after an encounter with a decent sized rock in shitty NJ.

I get OE from getbmwparts.com. They are around $37 a pair. They last several years for me. No more expensive than the crap at Autozone

Once I got a BMW free one that jumped and squeaked like crazy. I have been using Bosch CA19 and CA24, no problems.
