I just bought my first BMW (2021 X3 30i xDrive). Finding and learning the various adjustments and settings seems overwhelming. Specifically, I can’t find a control section for the footwell lights. Do all X3’s come with footwell lights? Any help would be appreciated.

For the life of me, I can't find "Car" anywhere. When I have found "interior lights" there is no mention of footwell lights only overhead lights. Again, are there really BMW's made without footwell lights?

I don't have Idrive 7 so can't help you with menu specifics, but every BMW I've had has footwell lights. Do you have ambient lighting? Perhaps its included with that feature. Have you crawled down to look if there are actual light lenses pointing down in the footwell? the happens if you press the interior light button?

adjust the brightness setting, uncheck option that says" dimming while driving" cant remember correctly

There is no specific footwell control that I can find. In car - interior light - there is only ambient light control. There is nothing specific around footwell in the manual either. I assume then that footwell lighting levels are part of the ambient setting but 1) it's daytime and I can't test and 2) I'm lazy.

Thanks for everyone's help. I just checked and I have iDrive 6, I thought all the new ones were 7 but I was mistaken. I'll try all your suggestions tomorrow and hope I have some luck.

i have 2 2021 X3, but with different options.
ambient lighting is an option, both cars have it.
live cockpit is an option, which requires ID7. Now this option didnt come in my wife's X3, but it was on mine. She does have different software which i think its ID6
