Haven't had a chance to try them out on an E9X M3 but based on my experience with these on the non-M3 E9X's and the E46 line, they are a solid upgrade. H&R tends to spec their shocks to be a bit on the aggressive end so if you are looking for the best handling and a firmer ride, these will be the way to go. With that said, you may want to wait for a coilover set that is adjustable both in height and dampening like the KW V2s.

I only hear great things about the H&R suspension products, but I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for quality, durability, and performance, the KW coilovers dominate the suspension market when it comes down to coilovers.

Had these on my 335xi. They seemed to have been very well made. Just compliant enough for my taste.

Though as the name suggests, these are intended for GTs. If that's how you use your M3, go ahead.

Are they ever going to make a KW V2 for the M3?
The H&R's were too stiff for me on the E46 M3's. Not to mention they the early units broke, and they wouldn't cover it.

Hmm... reading some of the vendor postings makes me wonder....

H&R was probably the worst coilover system for the E46 in terms of quality. Aside from the absolutely horrible ride quality, the E46 system had a part(s) that were notorious for failing. It personally happened to me twice, and that is when I said I will never go with H&R again. Tirerack replaced the part for me both times free of charge, but still... On two seperate occassions I thought I broke my rear diff but thankfully it was the POS part on the coils. Both times, I was without a car for a few days... not worth the hassle. That is when I switched to KWv2 and never looked back. I have 0 bad to say about KWv2 they absolutely rocked. But since V2 is not available for the E9X M3 these may be something to consider.

That being said, I look forward to reading some reviews on these new coils for the E9X. I hope they fixed whatever issue they were having with these for the E46. I also hope the ride is somewhat comfortable. I know this is a performance setup but I dont need to bouncing all over the place.

Stories like yours are why I always stay stock; I assume //M knows what they are doing and the car handles so well stock and is designed to hold up over time.

Cheers,

100% agreed. I'm using the KWV3s and couldn't be happier.

If it rides anything like their e46 systems - we won't be installing them.

Although I can not blame you for wanting to think this way..... I think you should reconsider. KWV3 are amazing and they are bullet proof. I've hit potholes in my KWV2 setup and I seriously thought the hole would break something in the suspension and ruin the rim. My trusty authentic BBS LMs and KWV2s never let me down. I NEVER had a problem with my KWs actually.. I love KW, definitely going this route on my E92 unless this new H&R kit rides semi comfy and doesnt break.

I totally agree. Suspension and engine (unless it's a turbo) are two things I wouldn't mess with because being an engineer, I know how much time, money, and resources are put into developing these products. Heck, my company even has to make sure the fire hydrants work at suppliers.

This is not to say that no aftermarket company can do it right... there are plenty who do, but even reputable companies can mess up sometimes, so you are always taking a risk by going aftermarket, and a high one with these high technology parts.

With non-adjustable sets I've found I don't really care for anything with Blistein sourced dampers, i.e. H&R and KW, as the rebound settign is simply too stiff for DD use. For adjustable sets I like Koni and KW. I've owned two different sets of KW v2s and loved them both times. I really with Eibach and Koni made coils for the M3 but since they don't I'll probably go with Eibach springs and call it a day.

Exactly.

The roads in CA were pretty good as well. It's funny, for as good as most of the Autobahn is, some of the B roads can be iffy and most town roads blow goats.

I know a guy here in the LA area who has them. He told me they are awesome and completely transformed his car. Says hes been in an M3 with KWs and thinks his car feels and handles better. Hes also rocking 20s. Ill see if i can get him to come on here and write a review.
