70k miles is pretty good for the stock charge pipe.

But overall nothing unexpected/major, just get an upgraded charge pipe and you are ready to go.

Yep, I wasn't too surprised. I'm still under CPO warranty, so I'll get it replaced that way.. planning to upgrade later on when I do the intercooler once the warranty runs out (if I make it that long). Fabspeed comes first though! Probably won't wait for the warranty to expire on that one.

Intercooler can make a big difference if you do more than a couple pulls.

Sounds good!

With warranty then just get another plastic charge pipe, save that money for your down pipe or intercooler! Personally I'd go intercooler first just to keep those iats low and keep the engine happy.

100%. My IATs usually drop or stay flat with the big honking CTS intercooler between pulls.

Agreed, I definitely want to upgrade mine. Hate losing power in the warmer summer months here in TN!

My 2018 M2 has the new version

That's exactly why I haven't bought an aftermarket CP

Ah, interesting, as I have an '18. Is it easy to tell the difference? I did a search but got the phone book.

It's got a beefy collar where it mounts to the throttle body

Your 2018 more then likely has it

There was another thread discussing this new reinforced CP, apparently it can still break and there were photos from FB of an owner with this upgraded charge pipe having it break.

So again at best a temporary solution.

It was in the big charge pipe debate thread or reliability thread I can't remember exactly but if I find it I will link it. But yes I believe the car was stock.

The reinforcement was more on the flange area, it still won't protect from cracking that is common on the pipe body where it connects to the flange.
