BMW M2 Comp Options
What options are recommended and what would you stay away from?
1. Carbon fiber (spoiler, caps, etc.) 2. Harman Kardan sound (how much is this) 3. Floating Caps 4. Wireless charger 5. Floor mats 6. Executive package 7. ETC. |

US spec equals color, trans, roof and Exec. pack. Sure trims and wheels as well but those changes are minor.
if going used i’d look EP (shouldn’t be hard), and for mpp parts. always a benefit to get one with the good stuff already added

Then pick your color and trans.
if you want EP realize your paying a note for basically a heated steering wheels as upgraded lights are now standard (so it seems) Where you snag an allocation from? lastly, congrats…

One thing I've recently learned is that the "M Drivers Package" is sort of a ripoff (High performance driving instruction, delimited top speed). I started a thread about it the other day, but basically you can get HPD instruction and track time for a far better price if you don't go through BMW, and the top speed can also be modded for less without the factory option to do so. It's a $2500 option that isn't worth it

1. Personal preference. One thing to note is that the CB is more expensive than aftermarket however, it can be floated into the MSRP so that may make it easier to purchase. Also, the weave should be top notch compared to aftermarket which is hit or miss.
2. This is standard in the US. 3. Personal preference. Kind of weird in my book but you may like them. 4. Part of the Executive Package. This thing is completely useless and in my opinion, shouldn't even be offered as it overheats your phone and is a potential fire hazard. 5. Personal preference. I do like that these are specifically designed for the car though rather than an aftermarket one. 6. This is a must have option for the headlights alone. I also like the heated wheel as i live in the NW and use it often. The phone charger and the wifi are completely useless, see point above. 7. Sunroof is a personal preference and unlike the M3/4, there is no penalty vs getting a carbon fiber roof. Transmission, can't go wrong with either, one thing to note is that 6 speed cars are holding their value higher than DCT if resale is important at all. Good luck.

With the wireless charger, id just like to point out that I am more or less the “best case scenario” for the feature: my phone fits and it doesn’t heat up too badly.
But after a year of attempting to use it regularly, I’ve more or less come to the conclusion that it’s easier to just plug your phone in. It will charge much faster and if you keep anything in the center console (note: no built in sunglass holder in the headliner) sticking the phone in the wireless charger is a two handed affair that requires you to look at what you’re doing. So even if the wireless charger works well for you, there are probably still better options. |

Get the exec package, its worth the $1200. Although I hear all new builds are getting the adaptive LED headlights for free if no Exec package. Cant confirm that, but that is what I've read on this board.

2. Standard in U.S. 3. Dealer installed accessory, not a factory option 4. Part of #6 and also a huge negative. I wish I could remove it. 5. Dealer "installed" accessory 6. Yes but only for the headlights. Rest is useless IMO. I think you're confusing port/dealer installed accessories with actual factory options. The option sheet on this car is incredibly short: - 5 exterior colors - 2 interior stitching colors - Lighter grey or darker grey wheels (neither are actually black) - Piano black or CF trim - Executive Package - "M drivers package" <-- literally one line of software and a free M school day, useless - DCT - Moonroof

Considering you're in Denver, you might want the Executive Package for the heated steering wheel on cold winter days. I know I like mine!
I'd say no to the dealer installed accessories unless you're getting a great price. And don't they keep the original parts too? If so, then definitely not because a second set of floor mats and center caps (for winter or track wheels) are nice to have. |

I went with: -LBB, blue stitching, darker grey wheels, CF then addon items: CF splitter, spoiler and diffuser and the metal pedals. now waiting for production. |

Thanks so much for the response guys! Yes, I'm in Denver and hoping to lock this in tomorrow afternoon!!! I did the math and the used car market is so crazy, buying anything but new doesn't make much sense. Especially when you factor in financing. I think I'm going to do the following:
1. Hockenheim Silver 2. Executive Package (for steering wheel and headlights). I wish someone could confirm the headlights and I would skip this. 3. DTC (it will be a daily driver and I'll be taking it to the mountains for skiing/mountain biking. I can't handle the I-70 traffic with a manual 4. Blue Dakota Stich 5. Carbon Fiber Interior 6. I think the silver wheels but, I'm up in the air on this one 7. Steel pedals 8. Debating CF spoiler |

HS + black wheels + spoiler is a real good look IMHO. If you've not paged through the HS photos thread you really should, it's a great way to get a sense for how different pieces look without being able to in person. Last edited by Capt Canuck; 04-29-2021 at 10:47 AM.. |

They may be referring to some of the mixed opinions on if the headlights in the Exec package can be ordered without the package. There's a thread somewhere of people reporting this.
To me the wireless charging and headlights are worth it alone. Heated wheel will never be used in SoCal/desert areas but anywhere else, I can't see people skipping the package unless they wanted a stripper model for the track |

The fancy dan ones are being included in builds now regardless of whether you get the EP.
Referring to the following two codes for the lights for adaptive LEDs and the auto high beams being included on build sheets and confirmed by owners who haven't got the EP but have the lights: 552 5AC |

Many recent orders are seeing adaptive lights included in their builds without the Exec pack. But no one will know for sure until the cars arrive so its rolling the dice. Could be left over lights that BMW want to gift to their customers, or could be like the blue brakes we were all supposed to get
