$600 (not including the pressure washer)
Get this bottle, that bottle, this cloth, that cloth, this polish, that sealant, and when the guy rings it up = This will probably last me for a very very long time though. |

wow $600!! impressive but i can see how you racked up such a bill... i got a cleaning kit myself bout 2 yrs ago from detailed image... it only cost bout $180... i dont have a PC or polishing pads, polishing compounds, pressure washer and foam cannon... think thats where the big difference lies... all the machinery costs $$$

I'm not sure if you have tried "Scratch + Swirl B-Gone" from CG, but I used that with an orange pad + porter cable and I feel like I needed more cut. Either that or I need to sit there and work in the polish even longer (which isn't the most fun). There were minor scratches that were really stubborn.

About the rear tires, I started messing with the pressure washer and I sprayed the other 3 wheels already so they were cleaner Yah the slippers couldn't hang with the punishment. They weren't too bad before I started, but by the time I was finished the right side busted out. Oh and I forgot to say that's obviously not a M3, but it was practice before I detail the M3. I still see pretty many fine scratches, damn I guess I need to either work in the polish more, or use a polish with more cut in it. Which also brings me to the question...do you guys actually change your polish pad with your buffer more than once during the entire process? I read one site that said you should change it occasionally as it will give you more cut, but that sounds like overkill.
Do you guys have any suggestions when to do what to a new car that's a garage queen? Such as "at 6 months you can skip the polish/orbital polisher and just wash/clay/straight to wax"? I'd imagine the car wouldn't need any polish for a while. |

That is how I like to do it: tape non-paint items. When are you going to do mine? j/k
