Valentine 1 (Generation 2)

My M5 LCI Competition is set to arrive in the early to mid part of May. But i've experienced delays for just about everything I have ordered over the last 6 months, like many of you. I've ordered most of my parts that will not be spec'd on the car already, and now I have a this item to cross off my list...

I've had the Valentine 1 (first generation) for about 14 years now. It has been transferred from car to car over the years and has done wonders for me. I absolutely love it. Does anyone have the Second generation model, or the "new" version hooked up in their M5?

Any feedback? thoughts? let me know!

The V1 false alarms badly due to the gesture control triggering the rear laser sensor. You will need to put black tape over the rear laser sensor on the V1.

I have a gen 2 in my M3 CS and a uniden R7 in my M8.

Both work great.

I cant tell a difference, due to nostalgia i think the V2 valentine is better, but my wife prefers the uniden.

Big fan of the Escort redline 360c, but sounds like you're mainly looking to stick with Valentine

I'm a huge fan of the v1 but sounds like the gen 2 may not be of the same caliber. See the reviews on Vortex radar. The Escort Redline 360 seems to get a rave review. I'm probably going with a custom install waiting to hear about the new Radenso Theia with AL Priority.

Love my gen 2. Much better than gen 1 at false alarms and as stated by vortex it's better than uniden in some regards and uniden is better in others. The laser alarms can simply be turned off for the rear which will stop the issue with gesture control. There's an entire thread discussing this if you search.

Who actually uses gesture control anyway. Lol
