Music

Hello,

I have a basic question. I noticed by car does not have a CD player. How do you play your old CDs? Are they on your phone, in the cloud or can they be some how stored on a hard drive in the vehicle?

In my case, I am an Apple product user so I keep my music on my iPhone and iPad. I still buy CDs and I rip them to the computer using a program called X Lossless Decoder. I then convert the files to a lossless format like FLAC or ALAC, and sync them to my phone.

So everything has to go through a phone? Other than radio, satellite Spotify.

I don't think a phone is the only choice but it is what I prefer to use.

I would like to be able to upload music/CDs to the car if possible. Maybe not possible.

I think you can rip the CD on your computer and put the music files on a usb stick and then transfer them to a hard drive in the car?

You should be able to store music to your car from a USB device. Check the "Music Collection" section of your manual for instructions. Basically you plug in the USB drive in the armrest USB plug, then you import the music from there. Cheers!

No need to transfer the music to the car. You can play directly from a USB stick. Just rip your CDs to your computer with iTunes or any other free music ripper, then copy the files to a USB stick.

Note that the USB port in the arm rest is USB-C so either get a USB stick with that interface or get a USB-C to USB-A adapter and a standard USB stick.

Or a HDD to store music, that's why the "music collection" option is missing in the media controls. The 128GB SSD is only available for the OS.

Well that is not good. I have always used hard drives to store my CDs. I guess I will go the usb route and just keep it in the armrest.

Thanks guys

I was able to download my CDs to a thumb drive and plug it into the USB in the charging tray. Works well. I think I will get a cable and plug it into the center compartment.
