Apple car key
Hello curious to know if anyone has set up Apple digital car key on their iPhone for their M235 or other 2 Series gran coupes?
My M235i was built in March 2020 and not sure if it is available as my BMW Connected app does not appear to have it showing anywhere? I do have an iPhone 12 and have BMW connected app. See screenshot below. |

I just took delivery of my M235i - I think it was built in October 2020 (so post July). I had an iPhone X, which was too old so now upgraded to an iPhone 12 and have no problems with the digital key. Love this car.

Do you guys use digital key as a remote starter? If not, what benefit is there over a regular key? I'm in the market for an M235 and am just researching digital key.

Does any of you know if this is a US thing only, (or other market limited)?
I'm not sure when mine is build, it doesn't say in the door sill, and the online VIN look-ups doesn't recognize my cars VIN. |

It’s available globally.
Your car needs to built after July 2020 and you need to have the comfort access pack - at least that’s what it’s called here is Aus. You will know if your car is able because you will have keyless entry. Also when you picked your car up, your dealer should have set it up for you. |

Unfortunately I don't have the comfort access. I really miss that, but I bought the car as a demo, so I couldn't spec it myself. |

I overlooked it on my purchase as well.
When I was ticking the boxes I saw the Apple Key required a subscription fee after 3 years and thought yeah nah no subscriptions for me thanks. It’s also first gen technology. It may be cool to show your mates from time to time, but I would question the everyday functionality of it as opposed to just having the fob, jumping in pressing start and driving away. At least this is what I tell myself. I’ll get it on my next in another 5 years. |
