Bimmercode / Bimmerlink Apps
Thinking about taking the plunge and have been performing due diligence on Bimmercode and Bimmerlink apps. I generally understand what each is and the differences between them. I'm looking for some words of wisdom, cool features, ease of use, dongle recommendations, etc. In short, the kind of info those familiar w/ these apps possess.
Thanks. contented |

I have no comparion between the two, but I got Bimmercode because most folks here recommended it. Works pretty well and has waaayy more shit than I'll ever need. The pros will chime in soon.
I also got a vgate iCar Pro Wi-Fi OBD2 Scanner from Amazon. They both work well together. Just make sure your phone is in airplane mode (and you away from home wifi, if you get the wifi version). Good luck! |

BimmerLink let's you check and clear error codes. It also has realtime sensor display and data logging. I don't know why you'd need that feature, most tunes already have a way for you to do data monitoring/logging.
You can disable the exhaust burble and control the exhaust flap with it. They also market the ability to disable ASD, but you can do that with BimmerCode too. The main reason most get BimmerLink is for the battery registration feature. You can just get BimmerCode and if the need ever comes up for BimmerLink buy it at that point. They both work with the same adapters. When using either of them make sure to put your seatbelt on. That will make sure the car doesn't go into sleep mode. |
