custom iphone mount
Hello Everyone I am deff going to paint it black. It would only work here because of the guts of the 3g dock underneath need room. I drove so hard around turns and it does not go anywhere. The dynolicious from the app store works great to becasue it is so still i can get hp,0-60 times and skidpad.I never watch movies on my phone.Yes it does charge my phone and it plays music tough the aux just by putting it on there. As far as getting in the way of shifting when i put it in drive it is a quarter of an inch away but then whats cool is that i can shift into sport mode and its not in the way anymore so i can still shift thought the gears need be.
Im going to post a video today Last edited by Dlifevr6; 10-20-2008 at 06:13 PM.. |

Custom Iphone Mount
I was always looking for a place to put my iphone so i put this. Charges it and plays music thought my aux port in my center console
So what i did here was traced the frame of the dock and then cut it out with a razor blade and then centered it Then when i went to the store to buy a 3g dock holder. It came with 3 of them for 9 bucks so i had 2 to spare. I cut the frame off one of the 3g dock holders and traced it. Thats why you see the white line in the picture above Then i started the cut with a rotozip and hope for the best After i cut the hole i cleaned it up with a sander tool and dropped it in with some gorilla glue and clamped it down and waited 5 hours for a nice tight fit Now for this piece when i went to the apple store i picked up a 3g dock see here http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB...OQ&mco=MTQ2MjA its like this but without a remote You have to glue this to the bottom of the dock and then when you put the idrive controller back on it holds it very tight Here is the finished product i dont have the iphone in there cuz thats what im using to take the pictures if you have any ????? write me and i will help you And this is my ride tell me what you think |

Your car looks really nice, would looks way more aggressive with blacklines and mtech rear the iphone dock is pretty neat, looks great also.. but wouldn't that get in the way of your arm when your shifting gears/ levers. I wonder how it would look if you painted it matte black? maybe another project?

Looks good! I probably would have hit it with a few coats of black paint but nice otherwise!
Also, how did you connect it underneath? |

+1 for the effort, but is it really worth to it?
cutting a hole in a perfectly fine trim piece just to hold a phone is something i will never consider. |

That would get in the way of my shifting.
