Should I buy a new E90 at discount or wait for facelift ?

Hi guys My current E90 is over 3 years old now and I'm thinking of replacing it. Since the facelift is already on order , there are big discounts available on the last run of the pre-facelift models. Should I take the plunge on one of those or do you think it's something I'll regret later ? I don't see any big changes in the facelift....

I suppose it depends on what you want...

As far as I've read, the facelift is quite a big one under the covers. There are slight changes to the exterior and the interior styling, but most of the changes are to do with the suspension etc.

I don't think there's so much of a difference to the dynamics that you'd actively notice it in every day driving though, and you'd probably need to be really good to notice the differences when on the edge too.

I suppose at the end of the day it depends on what you want to do with your money. If you can take advantage of the special and get a higher spec model pre-facelift than you'd get on a facelift model, I'd probably go that route. At the end of the day it should come down to what you can get out of the car - and if you can get more for the price, I'd go with the pre-facelift.

If you want the new model though and take into account that a facelift model is going to resell for more and that's more important to you - then go for the facelift...

Just my thoughts..

Thanks for the input.

Yes I definitely would be able to get a higher spec model , since the discount they have offered is more than R50 000. I think I'm going to go for it. I'm aware that the new car has a slightly wider stance, but the engines are the same and you don't get any extra stuff for free.

I think on the interior a few of the knobs are now metal instead of plastic but I can live with that. As for resale , I'll keep the car for at least another 3 years , so I don't think there will be too much of a difference.

IMO I would take the pre-facelift model at the better price. and as irq5 says, you can get a better spec'ed model at a better price!
I'm sure they'll make a kit in about a year's time to match the facelift's contours.
