Help with M2C coolant leaking?

noticed some green-ish crystal-like stuff while double checking for any oil leaks....it is only in one spot. if its a coolant leak wouldn't the car tell me it is leaking? i guess i should just take it to the dealer. will post a couple of pics below. thanks.

That really does not look like Coolant. Have you tried to smear it? Coolant would dry up, that looks more solid, crystalized like you stated. Take it to the dealer.

That's not coolant. Looks more like some sort of adhesive or protectant material.

This was my thinking but I don't know any adhesive that is green in color. OP, just take it to the stealer.

you guys were right, it was a rat (they saw tiny footprints on valve cover) who brought something into the engine bay (perhaps like a dishwasher detergent tab) and it melted on i guess when i turned the car on and it heated up.

You got bigger problems if you have a rodent. Take it very seriously and start setting up mouse traps around your car.

On my M235i I had a $1,000 bill to fix wiring eaten by a rat. We did get it with a rat trap but after he damaged the car.

There is horror stories on the forums from mice chewing on wires under the hood.
I have seen it personally and now employ a full anti mice battle plan every fall and late spring when they are at their worst. I have electronic sonic pest speakers above all the bays in my garage. Then I use 8-10 traps with peanut butter in all the corners and along the walls. I usually catch a few the first night, then 1 the next and then I keep the traps out until I don’t get any more. At that point I only use 2 traps by the cars that sit the longest over winter storage. This system has worked well the last 10+ years. I also don’t keep garbage cans or bird food in the garage.

These will work against mice

-Moth ball around or in the engine bay over night
-spray pepppermint oil in the engine bay
-put laundry drying sheet in the engine bay
