Car Related: things others do that annoy you

Chris made a decent point on the other thread about closing frameless doors on a coupe by the glass, I do this all of the time but I can see how it would annoy.

I hate seeing what is usually an elderly person manoeuvring a small car like a Jazz or Micra at high revs and huge amounts of clutch slip.

People driving with the seat all of the way forward and sometimes as high as it will go, my mother in law does this and I genuinely cannot get behind the wheel to adjust if I drive it, it must be near impossible to control it properly.

People driving on and off the throttle as if they’re unable to regulate their right foot smoothly enough to keep a constant speed, my auntie and uncle both do this, makes me feel sick.

Seeing cars on bricks.

My other half is physically incapable of closing the boot lid with the handle, leaving greasy fingerprints on the paintwork every freaking time.

Sunscreen on car door handles. My mum does it constantly on my dad's car, as well as her own. 'Oh, I don't know how that got there' when you can see the hand prints on the bonnet of her wee Aygo at the point you'd lift it and slam it shut! I'm forever polishing the marks off.

1. People who buy a really expensive, highly technical and capable vehicle and then hold a mobile phone in their hand to text or talk while driving.

ons.

2. any driver who does number 1 in any vehicle on the road is the same.

3. when the dealer has the car for a day and the smallest person who works there drives it around and then you headbutt the windscreen when you try to get in it after them because you didnt realise how valuable memory seats were when you looked for a spec.

People who scrape multiple handfuls of snow (and road grit) off the bonnet of your car in the driveway, no doubt leaving a myriad of delightful scratches on the paintwork.....

When its icy mrs uses wipers before screen is defrosted. Changing wiperblades every year as they get shredded between nov-march is not pleasant.

Not to mention the opportunity for the airbag to take their head off if it deploys...

Number 3 on your list. I don't think anyone taller than 5' 2" has ever worked on any of the cars that I have owned. Every dealer/garage visit the same, for 30 years.

This person's shoe. A Disco is made to be muddy, but sills are made to be stepped over. She manages this every time. This was from John Lewis car park, not farmer Giles' field.

People who think it's ok to drive down the pavement at 30mph because they can't be bothered to wait for 5 seconds for someone to turn right. Much of the time very close to someone's terraced house or entry. God forbid a kid run out from the entry or house because they wouldn't see them until they felt the thud underneath the car. Downright dangerous and seems to have got worse these last few years.

No such thing as a fast lane, you can drive at the speed limit in any lane.

Also, people who brake every time a car is coming the opposite way on a single carriageway.

People who don't pull over to find out where they are, but instead decide to drive at snail pace in the middle of the road.

People who drive off without clearing windscreens or side windows, who then crawl up the road because they can't see where they are going!

Saw 2 of these the other day front screens completely misted up.

People driving without really thinking about it, and without consideration of their impact on others:

Middle lane hogging/Outer lane hogging/never using the inside lane on a motorway
No lane discipline on multi lane roundabouts
Not parking neatly in a box
Not parking sensibly in a unmarked car park, to maximise space for other cars
Not making reasonable progress on A and B roads
Lorries overtaking Lorries, but taking miles and miles to do the maneuvre, with cars building up for miles behind
People who don't know how to use a roundabout - either getting a move on when entering, and wait for a large gap
People who enter a roundabout and try to go round as fast as they can, rather than at a sensible speed, that would allow others to enter and keep the flow of traffic going.

And people who react like overtaking is illegal, when they get overtaken... Flash lights, speed up, etc etc.
