Widest tyres

Guy's, what are the widest tyres you can fit on a 2019 440i with 19 inch rims front and rear, ordering some winter wheels and tyres etc, we do NOT get snow hardly ever so that isn't an issue, any advice is much appreciated.

Ideally you want a new set of rims because You want your winter wheels to be smaller, with a thicker side wall, and narrower. The thicker side wall allows for more play and forgiveness on harsh winter roads and potholes and you want thinner because that increases the amount of weight on the contact surface. Obviously nothing crazy because you still want traction and breaking abilities in the dry but I would go with a 225 over a 255. My summer tires are a staggered 19" setup and my winter setup is square 18/225. On my old s4 tire rack actually recommended I go with a 17" instead of the stock 19". Car was an absolute monster in the snow with them.

Hmm, I see that now. OP what do you mean by winter tire if it's not for snow?

Even if he's worried about lower temperatures affecting a summer tire compound, those compounds are usually good at 40-45°F and above, under that you'd likely be getting snow.

Unless it's a super dry but cold climate?

Guy's, i want these new wheels and tyres so my Polished front M sport alloys don't get blasted and destroyed by salt and grit which can be used often through the winter, don't need winter tyres really.
Come next spring the M wheels will be going back on, i should have explained it better lol

If you are worried about grit, then you rather should go for small.

Well if that's the case I still don't think you need wide. That would just make the "beater set" of rims/tires more expensive.
I'd go with a square setup, smaller diameter tire which would give a taller side wall, and a set of powder coated rims as you will get more protection and less chance the salt eats through a clear coat or causes other damage.

If you want wide for the sake of wide, there is a guy local to me running 19x10, 285 in the back. He's lowered a has a hint of camber. F32 n55.

Thanks guy’s
What you have all said makes perfect sense so I am going with a smaller square set up for my winter wheels and tyres, will put pics up when done.
