Anyone interested in a meet? No mods on the car yet and I'm itching to see what people have done.
Actually, I'm interested in seeing another M3. I drive to work every day (East York to Downtown) and I see new M3s about once a week, whereas I run out of fingers and toes counting the number of Porsches I drive by. Where is everyone?

Definitely interested in a meet. ALM3 and I did a ride up to Wasaga in August and we would love to see some more M3s.

Yes, let's get together and compare stories about our rides. Perhaps easiest is just to pick a restaurant and meet one evening after work? I expect we are all from different parts of the city. The Mill Street Grill and Pub in the distrillery district is pretty cool and has good wide parking spots. Perhaps we could meet either at Downtown BMW and say helllo to the Quinn's (new owners) and then hop over to the restaurant after a short cruise. Mondays and Thursdays or Fridays are best for me. I suggest Thursday October 24th at 5:45 at BMW Torornto. But... I am always open to other options.

I am in Tennessee till the 22nd and I would be interested in getting together. The north end works better for me.
Dont make it too challenging for Al to get to as he is quite challenged in actually driving his car |

5:45 pm is too early for me, but I can meet folks at the restaurant in the Distillery District at 6:30 pm or so. This way, those arriving early at BMW Toronto can take a short cruise before heading to the Distillery District, but we can meet early enough that it's still sunny enough for pictures.
Or, would people prefer to meet on the weekend? I figure that we can always alternate locations, downtown versus north, for next time.

Great to see the interest. As several people indicate north perhaps it may be better to meet at East Beaver Creek complex and we can choose to eat at Shoeless Joe's, Nava, Milestones, Fox & Fiddle? Thusday 23 seems good for most. I propose meet at 6:00 PM in the parking lot north end and we can then take some pictures and introductions. Maybe we could take a short cruise up Leslie (north end I think gets a little twisty) and return for a dinner. We could let the restaruant know how many as we left for a drive. If anyone else prefers to specify another plan I am fine - however can not make Saturday 25th. Hey Gearhead.... my driving challenge is resulting in 13000Km on my car already!

You guys must all be in school or something. I can't get up to markham/richmond hill by 6pm on a Thursday. ALM3, you can't make Sat, but what about Sunday (Oct 26th)? Would a Sunday meet in the north end work for everyone?

Weekends are bad for me as there is too much house stuff going on right now.Weeknights are much better for me.A cruise is of little interest to myself.

I am not sure how to best satisfy everyone. If we meet this Thursday 23rd at Shoeless Joe's in East Beaver Creek - just west on Highway 7 at 404 - how many are likely to show? While we may start at 6 or 6:30pm we will likely still be there at 8pm. While I have to go to Orillia for a 3pm meeting I expect to be back a little after 6pm. As flyinggonzo first suggested getting together if you prefer to specify another time, date and location please go ahead.

I am unlikely able to make it from downtown as things are busy at work (to say the least). If you are still going ahead let me know and I will try.

Spotted Black M3 at Ontario Place early Tuesday
I was out for a run along the lakeshore and spotted a black M3 (too early and cold to see if it was Jet or Jerez) in the parking lot at Ontario Place. Is this anyone on the Forum?
I typically only see 1 or 2 new M3's a week downtown, does not seem to be that many around yet.

Sounds like we have some people so let's meet at Jack Astors in the East Beaver Creek complex. This is just west of the 404 on Highway 7 North side. As I am returning from Orillia I will be there sometime around 6:30 - 7pm. I will ask for a bigger table in the bar area and tell the hostess that the group is under M3. Looking forward to seeing anyone that can make it. Regards - send me a private note if you would like my cell phone number.

Oh well. Gearhead and I met but no one else showed. My appologies - I said Shoeless Joe's and it is really Jack Astors. Amazingly Gearhead thought the same as I and knew the restaurant I meant. There was a white M3 coupe in the parking lot when we left - was that someone trying to find us?
Hopefully we can pick another time. |
