Hello Friends, just wanted to thank everyone for their help, this forum was a great resource as I debated putting in an order. But I'm in the queue now, sitting at "order scheduled for production."

Do you guys know how to see what week I'm scheduled for?

First, congrats on the order! The wait begins.

Your salesperson should be able to give you a production number which will allow you to sign up for tracking on the BMWUSA website. Tracking is fairly accurate but your salesperson should also be able to see it's scheduled production week and give that to you.

With your production number you can also call the BMW 800 number and the system will give you an expected completion date.

Thanks! This is my 1st BMW, so I'm still getting the hang of all the systems/websites.

I'll share a production date when I get one...the wait is killer and it's only been a day!

When your sales contact pulls up the vehicle information from their system, it shows the production week as well. Ask them to send you a screenshot of the page or at least the production week and production number. I actually found that they missed a couple of items by reviewing this sheet and they were able to correct it before it went into production. Alternatively you will be able to log into bmw site using production number and check the options there too.

I put an order in on Oct 25, so about 2.5 weeks ago, and my car was produced Monday. Delivery to the dealership is expected this Sunday!

I was amazed at the turn around time.

I was originally told next week was my build week, but it kept getting bumped up. No complaints! Can't wait to pick it up next week.

Carbon was my second choice. My dad had an E39 M5 in carbon black and it was amazing, but I like trying different colors over time, variety being the spice of life or something

I ordered mine on 10/27 in Boston and it was crazy fast as well. Had a production number a couple hours after order, a VIN and tracking the next day. About a week later it went into build and was done the next day. Yesterday it was dispatched from the factory so hopefully i'll have it next week. Impressive!

Status is now Production Begins, that was fast! I like the tracker BMW gives you online, much better than other orders I've done in the past.

Prepare for the car to sit at Production begins for a week or so, then the actual production will happen. This status just locks the order so no changes can be made.

You used to be able to see your X3 on the assembly line at different stages when I got mine in 2012. Do they still do that now once it's actually in production and not in the production queue?

So true. Mine sat there for I think a week and boom, finished. Placed order 7/24, car at dealership 8/11. I picked up 8/14.

There are a few interim steps in the "my garage" like exterior assembly, in paint, final assembly, etc. But from what folks say it happens super fast and you can miss it if you don't refresh a few times a day.

Wow, that's super fast. Guess it pays to live close to the factory! As long as I get mine in 2020 I'll be very happy.
