Is sealant required part # 11537534880

2011 328i sedan 130,000 miles

I'm going to replace the dreaded sump (oil pan) gasket soon as it leaks like a sieve. While I've got access, I thought I'd also replace everything in the cooling circuit, water pump, thermostat, cooling pipes etc, due to the miles on my car. I've had those plastic cooling parts perish at the worst possible time, so a little preventative maintenance seems like a good thing.

My question is this: if I replace the gasket that seals the steel cooling elbow to the cylinder block, part # 11537534880, does it need (as per BMW recommendations???) any kind of sealant applied to it? I can't find anything about this online...

Any input appreciated.

Thanks,
