Key / CA stopped working in cold weather

Well, it wasn't that cold at around 50 degrees or so, but I walked up to my car, touched the handle, and it wouldn't unlock. I thought it was just the CA acting up (though I never had problems with it before), but I pressed the unlock button and my doors still wouldn't unlock. I took the key out to unlock the door, pushed the fob into the slot, and started my car, but none of my settings were working. Can this be attributed to the cold weather? That's the only thing that was a little unusual about the night.

Batteries don't like the cold. Maybe yours is on its last legs?

(btw I mean the one in your fob, not the car)
