Why can't people respect your car

Wifey came out of work and found this. How the hell does someone do a huge dent like that and then bugger off without owning up to it

Hopefully the scratch and dent insurance will cover it. Doesn't appear to have any cracking to the paint and there's no scratch, just a big dent. I'm hoping for paintless dent removal but have never had it done before so I don't know if it'll be successful. Two years old without a mark on it, now this

2 dents, One pretty big. That is a poor show by someone. Certainly must have known they hit your car.

Ouch.
If accessible behind that area, I'd say a dent man would get that out.

I'd be gutted if that happened to either of my cars .
It just seems these days there are so many people with such little regard for other people's property , whether it be cars , vans motorbikes , fences gardens etc etc .
a general couldn't give a shit attitude seems to fit the bill .
and it really ( to coin a phrase ) boils my pi**

Strange place for a dent, I'm struggling to see how that could happen. Too high and big for a door prang! Piss anyone off before you parked up? Lol

That looks like someone either kicked it or slammed a knee into it.

The first dings always the worst
You could pop most of that out with a suction tool or a electric magnet with a rubber sucker.

Have used both on mine a few times & it always looks good as new....well kinda.

Dirty little shits.

Standard if I can get away with it I will

Had similar with a hit and run, luckily the dash cam caught him. Still tried to squirm out of it.

I’d imagine a dent removal guy would pull that out.

Sorry to hear this. Definitely looks like a PDR specialist would be able to sort that very easily. I've seen far worse repaired.

It's so annoying when things like this happen.

I had an annoying incident a few weeks ago, nowhere near as bad as yours though!

I'm sat in the pick up area of my eldest daughters school. There's a circa 20 year old gold coloured Yaris in the next bay to me. Whilst I'm waiting for my daughter, Yaris guys daughter (or grand-daughter) comes and swings the passenger door wide open square onto the drivers door of my X6

She blatantly knew she had done it but made no attempt to apologise or even acknowledge she had done anything wrong.

I got out to see about a 3-4 inch mark of gold paint on my door - it's raining lightly so it's not easy to see if there's a crease or ripple but there's definitely paint and it's obvious there's been contact.

The Yaris hasn't moved on - so after checking my door I took a photo of the reg plate of the Yaris in case he drives off. After seeing me do this, the driver asks me if everything is okay.

I said your child has just smashed into my door, he then says 'I've told her before to be careful but what can you do, you know what kids are like!'

My daughter is now approaching wondering what the hell is going on, when the Yaris driver finally gets out of his car to look at my door. He then spits on his hand and starts rubbing the gold paint of my door!

By this point I'd had enough and said I'll check it out when I get home, he then refused to give me his details and said well you've got my reg number if you need to trace me!

Luckily, after washing and waxing mine the next day I was relieved that there was no damage to mine but it's more the principle. The child didn't apologise or get out of the car throughout the incident, that's the bit that annoyed me most. Her dad/grand-dad's attitude was also poor, which is I guess where the child gets the lack of respect for other peoples property - it's only a little bit of paint he said!

Unfortunately mate that seems to be the culture of today, not everyone I will add but an unacceptable percentage. Kids of today....parents of tomorrow, no respect just get repeated. Glad it wasn't too bad & you managed to sort it out yourself.

Dent man should easily get that out.

Probably some woman in a 4x4 with kids in the car, see plenty of them, the last thing on their mind is concentrating on the driving aspect.

Followed on the other day she braked and accelerated more in 1 mile than I've done in the whole weeks worth of driving.... some people

A PDR guy will have that out no problems. Annoying though.

Bet a dent guy can pop that back into shape as long as he can get behind it?

Looks to be absolutely no damage to the paint. Even paint on paint would likely leave an abrasion. This looks like damage caused by a person or object covered in material?

I had some little jerk throw a water bomb as hard as they could at my roof as i drove under a bridge, car was 6 months old. It completely dented the roof and had actually imprinted the support beam underneath the shell into the metal work. I was gutted, i took it to a paintless dent repair man scepitcally that it could be fixed. I was gobsmacked when i got it back the work he did on repairing the roof. He had the car under special lights making me look across the roof from different angles to prove that the light was defracting correctly. He then used another car to show me what i would see with a dent. You wouldnt be able to tell what had happened to my roof. Brilliant bloke who i would recommend.....

As Speedski said, my 1st thought was a knee, I was quite fortunate that the lady who hit mine, two weeks ago today, stopped and gave me her insurance details.

Hopefully a dent repairer can sort it out for you but it is so frustrating that people don't take responsibility for what they've done and own up.

Mine went in this morning to be fixed, I've been given a 2019 Audi A4 35 TDI as a courtesy car for the next week or two.

I did ask the guys on reception at the BMW bodyshop not to hiss when it arrived, but it didn't stop them .

The Audi does have a few features I like that I haven't got on mine, fold down rear seats, digi dash and folding mirrors but it is not as nice to drive as my car and the quality, design and finish of the interior materials is inferior.

I wouldn't swap, let's put it that way.

Booked in for an assessment at Sandal Wakefield body shop tomorrow.
I'll be ringing around the dent guys this afternoon, any recommendations for Leeds area?
