Anyone done a lease transfer?

Curious how long the process takes from start to finish?

Yes I have, transferred my M6 lease to another party.

Was by BMW just to state the obvious. They are really good as a company.

Suggest you contact them with a lease assumption request, and if you are lucky to have a qualified recipient for the terms then all would be well.

I transfered one.... took about 2.5 weeks. I had to be on BMW FS ass, they did not call or email me when they said they would. They supposedly called me but never left a message... I suggest you call them every two or 3 days to check up on them and get a status.

I did last month on my 335. Took 3 weeks because I screwed up the notarization, but overall a very easy process, and well organized by BMW FS.

+1 the lease transfer is really easy through BMW FS. basically just have to wait for them to process/send paperwork and it's a done deal.

well basically once you've found someone to takeover your lease, you will call your dealership and make an appointment with the person in charge of leases. at the same time, he will probably ask the person who is taking over your car to fill out a credit application that should be filled in before you go for your appointment. the credit check takes one day so you should have the person taking your car submit the credit app at least 2 days before your appointment. basically from start to finish it shouldnt take more than 5 days or so.

oh and one more thing, make sure youre ready to pay for the lease transfer fees. its about $800 - $1000 here in canada. i am not sure how much it is in the states.

As long as u find the car u really want and once you able to pass the BMW FS credit check, then everything will be easy. It took my buddy 2 weeks to take over a 335. U will have to go notary office and DMV ( DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLE ) for the new registration and thats it.
