DCT issue
Well after reading a few problems over in the US section it look like we haven't been spared either.
Mark was travelling back from the Moto GP y/day when pulling away from a T intersection in auto it would not change gear for around 5 seconds then jumped into manual mode. After that he said the DCT did not feel the same. The second time he was going through a large roundabout in manual mode in third gear, about half way through the intersection he lost all drive and had to roll to the side of the road. He switched off car and it reset itself, no problems after that. Will keep you posted we have emailed Menere's to see what they say. Only has 900kms on the clock. Not good for a near $190k car. By the way mine is fine, touch wood! |

Last month mine stalled as I was attempting to turn right out of a 'T' intersection.
Left me frantically trying to re-start the engine with oncoming traffic bearing down on me.. POS! Should have waited & bought the PDK version.. |

Hmmm not good hey.
He's taking his car in tomorrow morning. Will keep you posted. I was reading over in another section that there is going to be a software upgrade of some sort in the near future for DCT. Hope this will iron out some of these issues. Like I said I haven't had a problem yet (hopefully i won't) but it is going to be on my mind. How was the GP on Friday? |

It got canned so I spent the day at home with the little monsters on Friday.
I rode the HOG down yesterday with a few people & we had a nice lunch in Cowes rode back home & watched it later that night.. Perfect riding weather. |

If it happens again I might be on the nightly news: "today in Melbourne an unidentifiable man drove towards on coming traffic & stopped. He was squashed by a bus!" |

Mark said the same when he went through the roundabout. If a truck was entering from the left hand side it would of cleaned him up.
Mind you he did nearly cause a major accident as he had bikes and cars following him from the GP. |

Tell him to carry more corner speed in future lol.. We left early so we didn't get caught up in the other 'race' after the main event. He's real lucky his car is in one piece. Under the circumstances he could of easily had 10 bikes parked into his boot! |

Back on topic:
A couple of times I've been parked at a stop light, foot on brake (obviously) & had the car just rev, like you're 'blipping the throttle'. I'm starting to think this car has a mind of its own. Atleast that's what I'll have to tell the Police Officer when they catch up with me.. |

Morning all,
Mark's car was dropped off this morning, service guy mentioned they have a software upgrade available they are going to download to rectify the problems Mark and other people are having. Apparently it takes around 6 hours, will keep you posted on outcome. I don't think car will be back today |

That's interesting Androo. Given how new both your cars are we'd have to assume this is a very recent update.
Reading some other threads there seems to be a fairly simple way to find out what version of software the car is running. I'll see if I can find it again. |

The only issues I have had are similar to the OP especially at low speed through right angle turns and especially when cold. I get the impression its when I am a bit tentative with the turn as it seems to hesitate with no real throttle response- almost like it is about to stall although it hasn’t yet. The other interesting experience is after giving it a hard prod say away from the lights and then backing off, the box will then hang in the gear it was in after backing right off – say 5th gear – for about the next 200-300 meters. It then returns to normal and 7th almost like it thought you were going to give it a bit more and thought it should wait around in 5th for a bit. Anyone else experienced this ? Will post some info after I get it back after the upgrade. |

i havent had many problems with my DCT.. but the only thing i find is when i drive up my garage (live in the city) low speed cornering does seem a bit weird. the car seems to jerk a little when i corner in real slow speeds but at high speeds it is ok. in my opinion who cares about running the car in. cars are meant to be driven the only thing that really needs to be run in is the gear box so just chuck it in a easier gear shifting setting and take it to 9000rpm :P
