Nice review. I really wrestled with the DCT v 6MT decision, and went with the DCT mainly because I am keeping my 1M and have a manual e30 325e as a winter beater. This review got me pretty psyched for the DCT. The fact that it may be the last M-car offered with a DCT also helps.

And I agree with a point he made.... the lack of a center armrest would be much more of a liability with the 6MT. The location and shape of the armrest in the 1M is perfect. The absence of an armrest in my e30 drives me nuts, especially on a long drive.

The lack of center armrest really isn't so bad. I used to own an E46 M3 with a CSL carbon fiber center console that also deleted the armrest. Drove it like that for 5 years.

Been wondering how long it will be before there's a good aftermarket armrest. Hard to imagine not having it with the 6-speed. My daily driver is an E39 540i6, and can't imagine not having the armrest in the commute.
