Matte black lci radio trim retrofit

I was considering the lci led radio trim retrofit, but all of the listings I see have them only in a gloss black color. I don't want to install a gloss black piece because all of the black trim pieces are matte and I have the venetian beige interior so it would not match at all. I wanted to see if anyone found a listing for one where the trim is the same matte black color that the pre lci trim is. I do not really want to paint it because I feel that it is going to look out of place. Also I would consider removing the lcds and attaching them to my oem radio trim if that is possible.

It comes in gloss black and that is it.
You might consider wrapping it in a satin finish instead?

Do you think it would look just like the oem satin finished panel? I do not want it to look out of place. Also do you think it is possible to transfer the led strip from the lci radio trim to the pre lci trim?

Thanks for the reply. Quick question. I was reading the reviews for all of the different listings and a lot of them say that the leds are way too bright compared to the rest of the interior lighting. Do you find the leds to be much more bright compared to the rest of the interior lighting? Does it look out of place?

Those are the China /knockoff/eBay ones.
Those are also Often blue orange instead of white orange.
I’m using an OEM one from an eBay parts breaker yard, and it is perfectly level in tone and color.

my OEM one is definitely brighter than my the lighting on the doors. I added the door pipes though and it doesn't look that bad anymore.

You are possibly missing the load from the cup holder led being a 2017. I have it on my preLCI and it seems pretty even to me.

Do you know the part number so I can search it and see if I can find an oem one instead of seeing all the knockoffs?

By door pipes you mean those plastic inserts they sell on amazon?

I think what he's referring to is replacing the pre-LCI door-panel indirect LED modules to the brighter LCI units (BMW p/n 63-31-9-353-133). This would balance out the lighting in the car if you put a LCI LED radio panel.

Is this the same part for all four doors? Also is there a diy post for replacing this module?

Yep, one per door.

Instructions would look something like this;
  1. Don't worry about disconnecting your battery.. that circuit isn't powered with the ignition off..
  2. Once you have the door-panel partially off (you don't need to disconnect everything) because you only need access to the backside of the panel. Rest the panel on a box or something to allow you to work.
  3. With the new part in your hand you'll know what you're looking for.
  4. Disconnect the connector, then they literally pull straight-off the end of the fibre optic cable after you unclip them from the holder on the door-panel.
  5. Slide new module into place, clip into holder, reconnect connector. Re-install your door panel.

In all seriousness, it's harder to remove the door handle covers without breaking any clips.. haha.

No coding required.

I think on YouTube there's a video of someone replacing them on a pre-LCI F32..

I see. I would definitely need to see that cause I'm afraid that I will mess up the door panel trying to remove it.
