Get basic Tracker mate that should fit the bill. BMW dealers supply these and can fit them prior to you picking up the car

Its BMW you don't get nothing standard. Recommend you go with BMW for the tracker. the one to go for is the Tracker Horizon..

I just got the bog standard Tracker Monitor fitted. Booked it direct with Tracker as it was cheaper than BMW and other installers.

TBH, if it gets stolen, I don't want it back... so Monitor is fine by me.

BMW have stopped doing tracker now, they use RAC Trackstar which is a million times better than Tracker who in my view don't know their arse from their elbow. Just remember though, the pros can take out these tracking systems in about 20 minutes these days.

I got RAC trackstar aswell. To be honest I dont want the car back if it gets stolen. I would'nt bother with one unless you cant get insurance without one.

Yeh, ive always had the same feeling about not wanting car back if its stolen etc. My insurance doesnt require a tracker system so im only thinking about it for my own personal security. I guess if the police got it back to you quickly before the criminals do any actual damage to the car then its worth it - especially as some insurance companies can take forever to replace the loss and you never know whether they will try and wriggle out of the claim etc etc.

I have trackstar on mine. Very helpful when you speak to them. Only had experience with Tracker on my previous cars and on wifes X5.

I have Trackstar fitted from www.VehTech.co.uk (approved by Trackstar). They also included 1years subs and by far the cheapest.

Trackstar is GPS based and covers all europe. Traker is radio frequency and has UK coverage only.

Has anyone had SmarTrack installed?

I would shop around for your insurance to be honest. A tracker is gonna cost about £300 to be fitted and then about another £140 ish a year for subscription.

BMW insurance wanted a tracker and my existing insurance company (First Alternative) wanted a tracker. I swapped to Admiral car insurance who incidentally insured it for £200 a year cheaper than either of those two insurers, and don't require a tracker system.

Admiral also do a multi-car policy and we sorted the missus car insurance out that is due in June, and saved a further £130 a year on that one as well!
