There has been some talk about this in some of the other threads on this forum, and I confirmed when I ordered that the M drivers package is listed as "standard equipment" on the purchase.

There is an event at The Ridge in Shelton Washington (fantastic track, my favorite!) November 2-6, but I'm not sure my car will be delivered soon enough for me to have access to that on this purchase. I may end up flying down to one of the California events during the winter. The Ridge doesn't do the M drivers school, just the M Track Days.

Does anyone want to try to coordinate and meet up for one of these?

The M Driver's School is only at Thermal or South Carolina. Consider it similar to an M School. I recommend using the value of the M Driver's Package towards at least the 2 Day M School.

I'm planning to do use the credit toward a 2 day advanced M school. Probably in the April/May time frame.

Yeah, I eventually figured that out. I was confusing M Drivers School and M Track days which are more of a showcase and are held at more locations.

I am definitely leaning toward the 2-day M school.

Don't believe you can do 2-day Advanced M School without doing a single day class first...

You can get a waiver if you have completed other training. I've been through the full Skip Barber series of classes among other things. So I just have to provide my certificates from those and I can get waived in. Porsche is the only one of the major brands that I'm aware of that doesn't accept other training as waiver into advanced.

I haven't got a certificate of having completed a formal driver school, but I am listed as an instructor at my nearest track and have 14 years of lapping experience. I hope they don't make me do the one-day school.

Don't forget your New Owners Track drive experience for you and a guest when purchasing a new BMW in 2020. This could be a good year for BMW driving experience. I'm purchasing two this year

I am curious about this stuff as I'd like to get my wife to do something like this with me. I'm kind of hoping I can do a delayed Performance Delivery Center experience and have her go through the day event there and do some on track stuff. Figure she'll appreciate the car more that way.

Interesting....So is this for the M Track Days, Ultimate Driving Experience, or is this something different?

The M Driver's Package allows for you to take the "M Driver's Program" - https://bmwperformancecenter.com/mschool/mdriver

You can also substitute it - at least I did in 2017 - for a 1-Day M School: https://bmwperformancecenter.com/mschool/onedaymschool

The 1-Day M School was great at Thermal FWIW - unfortunately, you do NOT get to go on the main Thermal track for 1-day - for that, you need to do Advanced M School: https://bmwperformancecenter.com/msc...dvancedmschool

And sorry, there is 1 and 2-Day M School and THEN Advanced M School - 2-day M School does not require previous experience

This is why I'm excited about this. I think my wife would enjoy the experience together in a less intense environment.

I took the 2-day Advanced M School last December. You will need to have completed the 1-day M School or equivalent first.

They allowed me to apply my M Drivers Package voucher - giving me about $1500 off. On top of that, I got an additional 15% off for being a BMWCCA member. So the total cost was easier to swallow.

We drove M3/M4/M5's on the main and north track and skidpad, and M2 Comp's on the regular and large autocrosses.

Differences between the 1-day and 2-day course - you get way more track time, especially on the 2nd day, and they push you a little more outside of your comfort zone.

It is totally worth it and I would do it again if I could afford it with another discount.

Same here. When COVID caused all HPDE's to be cancelled in March-May, I rented a track for a private Test-n-Tune and we took the 1M and RX-8. I coached my wife and my son, and my wife probably would have had a lot more fun in a DCT car. She is excited about the CS, and I am hoping I can get her to try a real track day eventually. The M Driver Program may be great for her.

As an aside, having a day to spend in the car with my son was gold for so many reasons. Once we were able to do HPDE, the novice instruction was lead-follow only, and the day he had with me in the car created enough of a foundation for him to make the most of an otherwise suboptimal experience.

How fitting. For my son's university grad present, I took him to Thermal for the 1-day M track day. Shortly after, he got a job at one of or BMW dealerships as Product Genius/Delivery Specialist for 3 year. During that time, I picked up 2 different M2's via ED. The first time I took my wife, then 2nd time I took my son. They were experiences like no other and my time with my son driving through the Alps forever ingrained in my mind. My only regret was that with my son along, he drove >60% of seat time.

There's some confusion. There's a 2 Day M School, which you can take regardless of experience, and an Advanced M School (which is also 2 days and requires either past M School experience or other experience, YMMV on the experience).

The 2nd day of M School will use the track (usually South Palms) primarily.

It's probably a good introduction to the program. It's 2 hours, you'll get time in the offroad course in either the X7 or X5, then you'll have some short track experience (think autocross/handling course, not the actual track) in a variety of BMWs, then a hot lap with the instructor on the BMW side of Thermal.

Bumping. Called the Performance Center today to enquire about the 1 day M-school and putting the $1,500 credit included in the the M driver's package towards it and I wasn't in the system. They took my details (VIN etc.) and said they'd get back to me.

Has anyone else received a voucher or confirmation that this is included when purchasing the CS? As its a no cost option, I hope that doesn't exclude us from the $1,500 credit. Yes, I have received the email for the 'New owner's track drive' - not the same. There are also no scheduled sessions for the 'M driver's program' on the website's calendar...

Yes you would because it was a MY20 car and the offer, to me best knowledge, was for all MY20 manufactured specimen.

Oddly enough, there were 8 of these that actually left the assembly line in 2021 and are as such classed as manufactured in 2021 even though they were meant to be MY20. I guess BMW wouldn't have a problem extending it to the 8 unicorns as well.
