Blacked Out Window Trim - $30
After researching my options to black out my trim I decided to do it myself.
Shadow Line trim from the dealer was going to run around $1,200 installed. Professional paint shop was going to run $600 and an entire day. So I invested 4 hours and around $30 and here are the results. Up close it looks perfect. Actually, I like it much better than the flat black trim from the dealer. For some reason the OEM trim hold oils and looks spotty from weathering. The longest part of this project was covering and taping the entire car. There is plenty of room to barely slide the painters tape under the trim all around the windows and I even painted under the mirrors. No runs, no drips, just sand between coats and your results are excellent. I had a perfect non-humid day at about 85 degrees so drying time was extremely fast. Pulling the tape was the secret to not pulling off any paint on the trim too. I essentially had to pull it from under the trim and you can see from the up close shot of the trim on the door base where the line is perfect. This was the hardest area to tape but a little patience paid off. I am VERY pleased with the results and even more so in saving the money I did. Here you go...

Looks great! I'm sure all that masking took a hell of a lot of patience!

Nice job, look great. If I didn't already have black I'd do it for sure.
