Update Video on my N/A build...

Brandon and I filmed an update video on my car a few weeks ago so I’m gonna put this here because I think some of my N/A homies might find it interesting. Pretty sure I put a tutorial on every mod I’ve done to this car somewhere on this forum lol

That's a significant weight savings! Glad to see weight savings mods vs more power mods.

How were you able to fit the 335i manifold? Is the power more on the top end or low end? Wondering the difference with stage3 mani.

I have some threads on here about how to fit the manifold, the mounts need some minor modifications. I don’t have the link to the thread, but it should come up in a forum search.

The N54 manifold makes more power near redline. Like after 6500 rpms. Everywhere below 6500 the 3 stage makes more power. So you really need a manual transmission and a rev limit bump to maximize the n54.

I kept an eye on eBay there’s usually a couple for sale on there from scrappers. You have to look closely at the pics or email them for decent pics to verify condition it’s a bit of a gamble what you will get. Mine came off a 2008 car and had its fair share of scratches and a few chips all the way through the gel coat, so I sanded it down and resprayed it. Separating the roof from the chassis was a pita also but the details of how I did it are in my build thread starting around page 6.

Beautiful build, it really embodies "the ultimate driving experience". Got to say I wasn't a fan of the carbon hood/trunk look when it first went on but actually now it's essentially one big carbon stripe it looks kinda cool!

Not sure how easy it is to spray carbon fibre but having a thinner CF go-faster strip down the middle would look even more badass.

I’m not really fond of the carbon hood/trunk look actually, but the one shop near me that I felt comfortable having paint those parts wanted $1200 to do it. I’m still coming to grips paying that for a strictly cosmetic mod when there were functional mods I wanted to do. Now that those mods are done I’ll probably get the car painted soon.

The amount of shitposting in that comment section lol.. the car sounds great, also paint adds weight so it's better if the body parts stay carbon fiber

One thing I learned is you need to have THICK skin if you want to put build videos on YouTube, that’s for sure lol. For both videos most of the negative comments I’ve seen are just random nonsense from people who don’t know these cars so it’s pretty easy to ignore. (Like one guy saying my car weighs 3500-3600lbs. When a guy can’t take 10 seconds to google the correct info before negative commenting, well there’s probably not much helping him lol)

I already did the math and the amount paint I want to add is about 3lbs total. I know you are not surprised that I figured it out

I recently found a website with complete carbon parts for our e90 and e92's. They make interior carbon door panels, rear trunk carbon floor cover, carbon sunroof delete and complete rear carbon back seat.. pretty pricey though

I think I saw that same website and speaking for myself, the juice is not worth the squeeze. There are also some Carbon door skins that actually give a nice weight drop but are freaking expensive. The price of them kinda makes me want to try making my own lol

“Getting as much pleasure from tinkering it as driving it”. So true. Good to see the man behind the car. Well done!

So you have no leaks after doing that?

Nope no leaks. No reason to fear having one it’s an oem roof installed mimicking the oem procedures and using oem adhesive. When researching the adhesive I found a an old press release from the adhesive maker which gave me instructions on how to do it. Plus there’s install videos from IND and threads on the M3 forum where guys swapped a Sunroof e92 roof for a Carbon roof.

So with all this info I was able to put together an install procedure...

Cant find it, but there was literally a video from the factory on their carbon fiber parts, with specific attention to the roof. Nice build.

Only comment, have that guy buy a real mic
