BMW 323i 2.5L Muffler Delete Decibels?
Anyone got any ideas on how loud a muffler delete on a 2006 N52 323i would be in New Zealand we have a 90 db limit on exhausts would a muffler delete be under this threshold?

I have no idea on the decibels but having heard a few 328s with a muffler delete you'll be pretty darn close if not over. Get an exhaust flap that bypasses the muffler so you can cover your butt if you get pulled over.
Typical ridiculous useless government regulations... Give it a decade until you're not allowed to drive something that runs on gas. |

Yeah going to be close. My 328i w/ muffler & res delete is pretty loud, but the cold start and idle is actually somewhat tame. if i had to guess 85-90 dB

well i have never measured but im guessing that range because most mobile phones can only pick up to about 100, at about 5ft away my phone will record the cold start audio fine, but when revving it the phone audio sounds distorted because its too loud.

If you're worried about decibels, I'd skip the "deletes." Power gains are minimal for the NA side...so it was mostly for sound or cosmetics. You're actually better off working on your intake or your headers (sound up front, not out the tail, and not that loud).
