Vivid Racing. Buyer Beware

Ordered a set of custom Japanese forged 3 piece SSR wheels and tires from them and they sent me the wrong tire size. In trying to solve the problem their solutions was "Oh well too bad" and forced me to take a size I didn't want.

Tires are Super Sports and I was forced to take a 295 tire, instead of the 305 I was sold. The 305's were now on back order so I was left holding the bag over their error. I proposed they pay a small additional fee to upgrade due to their error, and they refused to pay for an upgrade and told me either I take the 295 tire or I can figure it out myself. They also tried to charge me for an additional shipping cost because they didn't want to pay shipping fees to me twice over their error.

Management I spoke with was JOSEPH MILLS. Extremely unhelpfully and downright childish to speak with on the phone.

Would never shop with them again, unless of course I wanted the wrong sizes.

Did you pay with your credit card? I would file a dispute.

Sadly if you search, that's the collective experience from Vivid. 100% should CC dispute.

No i just accepted a smaller sized tier, even though it's not what I wanted or paid for. Instead of 305's i'm running 295 in the rears.

Yep, I've had horrible issues with Vivid Racing years ago. Pay for products that don't come 9 months later after continual emails and calls

I believe the problem is they don't hold much inventory and instead drop ship from the manufacturer. They're beholden to their suppliers. That said their service is garbage!

Without excellent customer service and or unique product knowledge, it's ludicrous to give them margin for simply being the customer facing distributor. Thankfully many companies are bypassing this antiquated model.

They are a middle man. They got the best prices on the internet though. U can haggle with them.

That’s the world today. Price vs service. Can’t have both. I use vivid a lot of generic easy to get parts. I did have one issue too. And it wasn’t resolved to my liking either.

If I anticipate that I will need service with my parts order I’ll use someone else. Extreme power house has incredible service.

Just wanted to make sure this chain of events was clear.

One of our salespeople sold Sean a set of wheels and tires. The information he got from SSR on the tires that would work with the fitment was incorrect. They shipped and didn't fit properly. That size wasn't going to fit with those wheels, but the salesperson should have known that.

We sent a brand new set we got directly from Michelin in the correct sizing for free and didn't ask for the incorrect ones in return. We paid for all shop charges associated with switching them out and even paid the duties the new set were assessed getting into Canada. I'm not sure what else we could have done. There was an honest mistake and we took care of it, professionally and quickly.

We never want to have upset customers, but I'm not aware of many companies in the aftermarket that would step up to that level. I'm quite frankly shocked that after the lengths we went through to help this situation that this is the reaction.

Your problem not mine as you take responsibility for the vendor. I wanted 305 tires, and your guy sold me a 305/30/20 which is obviously too big, I'd be curious to see if SSR told you to use 305/25/20's but your guy made a mistake... I'd put my money on SSR telling your 305/25/20's over vivid racings "word" as we all know the reputation that follows vivd racing. I'd put my money on it that I got 305/30/20's (the wrong size) due to stock and potentially losing an order over it.

I got sent 295's instead of 305's I don't care if I got an extra set of rear tires that don't fit. I want what I paid for, which is 305's and not some useless tire I have to sell locally to recover some of the losses due to your error. I have no interest in making a few dollars on a set of tires that I can't use.

I would hope you paid for the mounting and balancing charges on the second set when sending me the wrong tire size. Is this something your bragging about, or do you expect most customers to pay for your mistakes but I was the exception? What about the full day I lost cleaning up your mess by having to take off wheels, drive two hours, wait half a day and then remount the tires? I lost a full day of work to, where I make over $3,000 per day, but hey you sent me the $56 for mounting and balancing the second set. Amazing damage control done there.

If you don't want to upset customers maybe you shouldn't hang up the phone on them and do proper damage control. You're a business person, act like one. Or at least give a damn about your customers and do more then minimum damage control to avoid a charge back. You did nothing but pay for a $56 mouting charge, and the shipping and border taxes to get the second set of rear tires to me, which in fact are still not the size I ordered.

Another fun fact while we're at it, when I asked for the right size tires you couldn't find stock, which wouldn't have been an issue if you allocated the right size after making me wait for 4 months while the wheels were getting made, and then refused my suggestion of a slightly better tire because the upgrade would have cost $20 more per tire. Then you suggested I take a much worse tire and that's how you could fix the issue and we call it even.

Your solution is that I was to take a worse grade tire, which of course I refused, and then told me you couldn't help me and I was on my own. At that point when I asked you to stop arguing and to just help me find a solution otherwise I'd pursue legal remedies you changed your tune quick and sent me the smaller tire.

At the end of the day I don't care about the money, so it's not worth me creating a charge back, which I had every right to do. For me I'd rather just spread the word about your terrible business etiquette in the hopes that others less financially fortunate then me dodge the "vivid racing bullet" as I'm fortunate enough that I can just have fun with these tires, burn through them and buy the right size I originally spec'd and paid for.

I paid for the first mount and balance but thanks for covering the $56 dollar SECOND mounting charge, and then paying for shipping on the second set I guess?

At the end of the day the headache of dealing with Joseph Mills, and his egotistical mannerisms was worse then having the wrong sized tire. I swear If I had to hear him say "Don't worry I part the red sea atleast 10 times a day" one more time I would have told them to keep the tires and my money.

Word got me caught up on that point too. Do you work 5 days a week? 1 day a week? I just gotta know how big of a baller OP is.

Envying the $56 mount+balance though. I'm paying quadruple that while making a quarter or less of what OP does
