How to paint Alum. trim?

Hey i was wondering if anyone could explain what i would need to do to paint the trim black? Do i need to prepare the trim in any way or can i just apply the paint? And then what is a good paint brand/type to use? Or even better yet....Anyone in SoCal can help me out?? Thanks.

If you're going to wrap it in carbon fiber...let's trade (plus cash). I have dark wood trim and would like aluminum trim. BTW, I have a 335i sedan non I-drive.
