BM3 used licensed - sound too good?

Trying to buy a used licensed by this dude, Forexhunter

The dude only takes Venmo/Google Pay. See screenshot of our conversation. Should I go through with it?

I would attempt to stick with PayPal goods and services. Sooooo many people are getting scammed and Google pay, Venmo, Facebook all offer zero buyer protection. There are false sites that state there is buyer is protected on a few of these sites but I have spoken to customer service on Venmo and Facebook. Both confirmed they offer zero buyer protection and pointed me to PayPal goods and services. If you absolutely feel this is legit, have him start the transfer process and you will get an email from no-reply@bootmod3.net looking like this. Make sure the email is not from another place. It's all automated now and can only be done once, so if it looks like this and works on activation, then I'd send the money.

Received two emails. Seems legit? Couldn't activate the key, BTW. Did NOT transfer MONEY via VENMO.

If you not using paypal good and services, never transfer the money until you successfully activate your car and flash one of the OTS map.

Can proTUNING Freaks confirm if these are legit emails from them and why activation fail? And if so, why are they letting this guy "deactivate" his account and then reactive it or however the procedure works and then scamming people with their auto emails? Seller is totally quiet now, he is tagged on this post. More than happy to provide his VIN that has been blacked out (if it's even his to begin with) for further investigation.

Just saw that someone already got scammed by this guy. DO NOT SEND HIM MONEY!

FS: xHP Transmission Flasher - License https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1738262

SIDE NOTE: That email is not the correct one (reference my previous picture) you would have received as of recent. The whole license transfer process has been automated. There is no reason Serge would have emailed you the info. This is clearly a scam and others should take note if purchasing used licenses.

Pure scam. There are no such emails when doing a license transfer. If you’re part of the bm3 facebook group you’ll see a post about this. People end up scammed by being told by this random guy to send him money as paypal gift or venmo or facebook and none have buyer protection. Buyer BEWARE!

Thought this through, the emails sent above came from "support@protuningfreaks.com", which clearly means someone working for them from inside is scamming us customers. proTUNING Freaks that is very sad. I hope they will investigate who this person is and fire him/her.

Was able to purchase a used license. Smooth process. PAYMENT should only be sent via PAYPAL - GOOD AND SERVICES ONLY!
The REAL e-mail should look like the attached.

in this day and age, it's very easy to spoof email addresses and phone numbers. That doesn't meant it's coming from someone on the inside.

Exactly... And it's not hard to photoshop something like that in.
