Do your G20 brakes squeak?

My 330i's brakes always squeak just prior to coming to a stop. Dealer says it's an issue with the model which sounds like BS. Anyone else having this problem?

I've covered 8000 squeak free miles.
There's no excuse for any new car to have this issue, let alone a modern BMW.

Take it back and ask them to resolve it.

M Sport Brakes?
My current G20 is ok so far, but my F32 435d used to do the same...
caused generally by dust build up and a vibration at just the right frequency between the disk and pad that creates a high pitch squeal...
I used to find they were ok after a clean or giving them a good hard hammering on the brakes (In a safe location obvs)

I had the same issue starting on 8k miles (when I bought it). Just by pressing very lightly the pedal, they started to squeak but when hard pressing, did not have an issue.

I thought it might be the brake wearing but I got no brake light on dash, so the other possibility was either having a broken wear sensor, or some smaller stone was causing the issue.

I went to the dealership and they measured the pads and only got 40% wear on 20k miles (even though I like speed, I don't use the brakes as much..); so, got some free time this weekend and I cleaned the discs and pads, and now my car is ok.

Give it a go, maybe that solves it for you too. Make sure you start the engine and put it in neutral, this way the brakes are not engaged and you have free space between brake discs and pads.

I have a new G21 and its a bit squeaky at low speed especially when braking on an a decline/nose down.

After about 15 mins the noise is much less noticeable. My conclusion is that they need a bit of warming up.

Bit concerned that their is not enough lube on the back of the pads.

After a bit of test driving it appears they only make a bit of noise on inclines when they are cold. 10 or so mins of driving has them silent. I think its exacerbated by my steep driveway that I have to gently brake on whole the car is cold.

I've also done of few emergency stops (enouht to engage ABS) and it seems to have helped. It only has 2,500 KM or 1,500 miles.

Same here. Mine just started squeaking. But only when it's freezing cold and only after the car has been stationary for a long time. Else no squeaks.

mine used to at very low speeds when pulling into a parking lot. My audi did it too and they told me they are 'performance' brakes and when there is a build up of dust it causes the sound.

After a few hard brakes and the sound went away.
