A few little details to report (PICS)
Been a bit lax in posting recent updates to the build.
I was in the camp that the black exhaust tips didn’t have quite enough presence, but the polished tips didn’t fit well with the comp package black detailing. I decided to pop the tips off and have them ceracoated in a dark silver metallic, which is just a bit darker than body color. I think it really makes the exhaust pop in an understated way. Taking the tips off and reinstalling was a breeze and the whole job cost less than a couple tanks of gas. Next was “wrapping” the V brace behind the grills in front. I tried to use a vinyl wrap a couple times without removing the braces and I just couldn’t satisfy my anal retentiveness with the quality of my work, so I decided to pull the v braces out and paint them. I wasn’t looking for something over the top, so I went with a satin finish krylon indoor outdoor medium red, and did 4 coats and then two coats of ceramic coating. Lastly, I finally completed a full detail with minor paint correction, and coated the car twice with Gtechniq EXO V3. The gloss results are incredible and water just falls right off the car now. This product was incredibly easy to apply and remove compared to several other ceramic based coatings I’ve used. Next project up will be blacking out the muffler because it’s a hideous eyesore when you look at the back of the car. Also just ordered RKP lip which I think will really give the front bumper a nice aggressive look! On to Pics! |

I'd be interested in knowing what product you use to black out the muffler when you get around to it

Key is to the scuff and clean the surface before applying. |

Love the meaty wheel/tire setup and can't wait to see the RKP lip on there. You're going to be over it.
