Engine Swap Question

Hey guys, so me and my buddies are doing an engine swap from and e90 n54 to another e90 n54, as far as I know the only thing we need to code is the injectors when swapping the engine but do you know if there is anything else that I should code when swapping or it's pretty much plug in play lol
thanks any help is appreciated!

Yes pretty much plug and play. Only main things as you mentioned would be the injectors that would need coding, but if you swap over the old injectors to the new injectors after a replacing the seals you won't have to code it. The only other main part is make sure the new motor has the same bolt pattern so 8-bolt engine to 8-bolt engine and 6-bolt to 6-bolt. If they are different just have to get the corresponding flywheel. Other than those two things plug and play.

The flywheels don’t need to be swapped, they are the same dimension being 6 or 8 bolt cranks. Both will bolt up to the converter without issue.

So what your saying is if the car originally had a 2007 8 bolt n54 and the someone wants to put a 2009 era 6 bolt n54 into that car. The flex plate/flywheel will bolt right up to the motor? How sway?????

First image is of a 6 bolt n54 the next picture is of a 8 bolt flex plate for the automatic transmission. Next picture is my attempt at mounting it. Only 1 hole will line up nothing else. Also would need the appropriate bolts since the lengths are different.

In either case the OP asked if any other coding needs to be done besides injectors. Answer is no. Hardware side possibly.
