330d M57 Aftermarket Inlet Gaskets Okay?

I have posted this topic on another thread (325d/330d Glow plug replacement) but got no response.

I will be using that thread's DIY guide to attempt to change all 6 plugs to BERU GE102 and the module to BERU GSE102 as I know these get knackered over time and mine is a 2008 model with 105k miles and 3 cylinders are showing activation errors on them, so I would like to hit all at once before winter arrives.

I have one question regarding the gaskets. I was quoted under £110 for 12 gaskets from BMW today! I couldn't believe myself for a second and am still thinking that the sales guy made an error, even after asking him twice that is this price correct.

So, I have seen a complete set on eBay for £19.95. 174019677421 eBay item number. It includes 18 gaskets...

I would like to know if others on this forum have gone with aftermarket gaskets rather than BMW. As its the air intake side, I assume its okay to get away with aftermarket ones?

Thanks.

I used elring ones on mine...no issues. I believe they're the OEM for them anyhow

Thanks for letting me know.

I have never heard of elring, but if they are OEM, I believe they must be a good brand.

The ones that I have seen on eBay for £18.99 are a generic brand as far as I am aware...

I would like to know if it would be a bad idea to use aftermarket (non-oem) brand gaskets.

I will do a search for elring to see if anyone is selling their gaskets.

I don't see much sense in spending £100 for a set of gaskets from BMW? This is absolutely disgusting!

I'd just go ahead with the unbranded ones, if you don't want to spend the £30ish (from memory) for Elring. I doubt they'll cause you hassle, and if they do it's just a couple of hours to swap them out and only £18 wasted.

I just spent £11 on 2 o-rings, so £100 for a set of manifold gaskets is fair money really

Good advice. Now that you've mentioned elring, I might just pay extra and get those, if I cant find them online, then I will go for the eBay ones.

Thanks
