You are a bmw client advisor and would actually disparage against a bmw product? Hmm I bet sales are quite slow with that attitude at your business.

Sales are doing great, actually. We're full steam ahead after opening up a week ago. X models continue to dominate. The 5 series has slowed. The 3 series is going steady.

As for this 2gc, I sold one since it's arrival. The only reason the customer bought it is because they needed cheap payments. This two is only going to sell because it's cheap. That's all. So far, from all the feedback from other advisors, no one has had any sort of emotional attachment to this car when leasing it. They've sold because they are cheap.

I think Bmw knew what they were doing. When they discontinued the 320i they needed something to replace it and this was the answer. They probably figured they would spend the absolute minimum on R&D in developing a car that will cost them very little to make.

Think of this car as the last resort, Honda/Toyota/Nissan shopper, high school graduate, bad credit, need something cheap buyers car.

I'm also the guy that doesn't sugar coat my opinion about the products I sell. I'll give my honesty opinion about how I feel about a model and let you make up your own mind about what you think when you drive the car for yourself. My clients appreciate my honesty and that has contributed to my on going success with the brand. It's been 7 years and still going. I love BMW but I am the biggest critic of my own brand.

Really? Well I fit none of that demographic and coming from an m2 and could have done another ...i chose this m235 version. And I actually like it and more so than the 330i. I guess I am just different.

I tried to watch a few Instagram live feeds from BMW but this "journalist" is terrible. He even reads notes from his phones in the middle of the interview.

I read your post and I went back to the configurator since there is dissonance between what you state and what I last remember: a 2gc is certainly not cheap.

Well for people that don't particularly like car or do dynamic driving (which is the vast majority) and wants a BMW badge, a nice interior and tech, it fits the bill also for regions that don't have the hatchback.

With my M2 lease almost up i tested a M135 and it was a disaster for me. Artificially violently unsettling (and slow) transmission in sport mode, understeering under power... it just didn't drive like a BMW much less a pretend M car. Kinda lost hope to these new FWD BMWs... Even a slower G20 with adaptive M dampers and diff fitted was more interesting to drive.

This change in strategy imo has to do with the reputation of bmw, which sadly has too many of this enthusiast:
https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1720388

When I see the latter (quite frequently), I like a lot more this new 2 series.

It's a cheap lease. Especially in loaner form. I'm talking about mid $300 payments with not a whole lot money down.

So Ferrari will built mainly minivans to change the negative connotation of the brand?? I don't understand modern marketing and brand management I guess.

That is so completely absurd! It's a $50,000 car. Payments aren't cheap, and you probably couldn't afford one. You sell expensive things that you, yourself, likely cannot afford, or you wouldn't be a car salesperson. As Eddie Monsoon said, "Drop the attitude. You only work in a shop, you know!"

LOL, ok, youre out of touch with reality. Car sales people can actually make a really good amount depending on movement and commissions and what not.

You classist knob.
