Anyone know what these are for?? Hood alignment??

Hello,

I noticed that the hood on my x3 m40i is not fully flush on the driver side when fully closed.

I am looking for a way to lower the front driver portion of my hood to sit the same and the other side.

I noticed these rubber buffers/fastners and was wondering if anyone knew what they were and what purpose they hold? Are they at all used for hood height alignment? You are able to twist and rotate them clock and counterclockwise and they move in a vertical direction.

Yes they are for the alignment they hold the hood in position when the latches pull the hood closed. If you adjust them you may need to adjust the latch keep on the hood itself if there is movement in the hood when closed. The latch keeps just adjust by turning the nut on the, they are captive and the nut just winds them in and out.
