Changing out exhaust tips?

Thinking about changing out exhaust tips, the tips I want to get has an inlet opening of 2.00 inches but the opening size on the muffler is 2.25 inches. Does that matter? Can a muffler shop make the inlet bigger to fit the muffler?

I believe most muffler shops have reducers so it shouldnt be a problem

Why go smaller? You should get bigger tips. I think 2in tips will look weak on a e92

I am not going smaller, the outlet diameter is at least 3 inches. What I am talking about is the smaller part that is connected to the muffler.
