N20 fuel pump...preventive maintenance??
Hey fellas... doing a lot of DIY maintenance now that my warranty is up, and was wondering what the consensus is regarding replacing the high pressure fuel pump as preventative maintenance.
I've got 73000 miles, and it's an easy 10 minute DIY, so that's why I'm curious.

I’d be more inclined to perform a transmission service if you haven’t yet, and probably change the diff fluid as well. I’m going to be performing the trans service soon myself. When I hit 100k I plan to replace the electric water pump.

Off of the top of my head all I can really think of is T-stat (but I believe those are actually warrantied to 100k miles), the electric water pump, but I'd probably wait until at least 100k miles before replacing that, and your intake pipes; charge air pipe, TIC pipe, and turbo inlet pipe, if you haven't already.
Have you "cleaned" your intake valves? Maybe do an intake cleaning with some CRC or Lucas GDI cleaner. I'd also install an oil catch can to prevent oil from being able to build up on the intake valves down the road as well. |
