Turn off battery to change steering wheel

Hi all!
I was wondering if anybody knows how to turn off/ disconnect the battery so that I can change my steering wheel.

I have a non m sport steering wheel and I recently purchased a m sport steering wheel to replace it.
Many people said to turn off the battery so that there won't be a error code thrown during the replacement as the car thinks something is wrong with the airbag and also so that the airbag won't blow up in my face.

Thank you!!
Also if anyone has any tips that would also be very helpful!!

The battery is under the trunk floor liner. All you need to do is disconnect the negative terminal of the battery using a spanner and tuck the wire away. Also, don’t shut the trunk. Use a micro fibre cloth or something and wrap it around the trunk lock hook to prevent the trunk from shutting accidentally. You’ll be good to go once you do that.

Tried disconnecting battery in trunk but vehicle still has power. I even disconnected both terminals on battery. I cannot remove steering wheel to wrap it because horn keeps sounding. How do I disconnect all power so that I can remove steering wheel ???

There may also be a small lithium battery in the engine compartment under the cowl cover on the passenger side. Disconnect the negative terminal of this battery and check to see if your vehicle still has power.

Whenever you disconnect the battery from the trunk let the car sit for about 10 to 15 minutes then it will completely shut down down from all power.

Horn problems

Hello everyone, I have some really annoying issue with my bmw f11. The horn stoped work so now when I'm press the steering wheel there is no sound but when I unlock the car with the fob there is one beep which means the horn work it self. I checked the fuse - it's fine but still no sound when I press the steering wheel. Any idea what I can do, thanks.

Check if you seated the airbag properly since the horn buttons are behind it. It may be slightly off. This happened to me but the opposite, the horn was stuck on and wouldn't turn off because it was jammed on one side.
