X7 40i Real World 0 to 60 MPH times
I thought I would start a thread to see if anyone has done a 0 to 60 MPH speed test with their X7 40i.
My understanding is that you can't really get an accurate number from using your cell phone and an app due to the latency times from the phone's GPS. I'm reading that it requires the purchase of another piece of hardware to get an accurate reading. However, that being said has anyone actually done it with a phone app or your watch/cell phone timer just to get a rough estimate? I haven't done one yet on mine but was planning on it once I find out the best hardware device to use in performing the test. However, I'm not going to go out and spend more than about 50 bucks for a piece of hardware just to run a speed test. At any rate, chime in and post what you used and what your results were if you've done a speed test with your X7 40i. |

I don't have my X7 yet. Looking at various reviews, I've seen them report 0-60 times between 5.3 and 6.1 seconds.
There's going to be variance from car to car. Even the same car, tested on different days at different locations with different measuring device can produce different results. Realistically the range is likely mid 5's to lower 6's. Plenty fast for most folks, not fast enough for some folks. |

30-50, 50-70 and 70-100 are more relevant acceleration intervals for how the x7 is actually driven. |

The 40i is crazy fast. For a luxurious, heavy family cruiser it’s every bit a BMW. You can get caught up in statistics if you wish, but if your question is whether or not the car feels heavy or sluggish, the answer is most definitely not.
