Hi all,
So, I have "upgraded" my instrument cluster to the M specific one which I think is a huge plus except two things: 1 - the yellow and red tach warning sections on the tach are not specific to B58. You can chose either an S58 or another engine to get yellow and red limiters appear but they wont match the B58 engine speeds (B58 has yellow at 6-6500, red at 6500-7000). So I chose S58 specific lines (yellow at 7-7.5k, red 7.5-8k) This, unfortunately, cannot be fixed at this point in time 2 - when you update the cluster to M specific one, your stock tach on HUD in sport mode goes away which is quite sad. So, to fix this I reached out to some coders familiar with E sys. Luckily, they were able to add M specific (which is larger) tach on HUD and added the menu in the settings where this can be activated. There is still no stock M340 rev counter, but who cares - I have the M verios of this. To code this you would need the following: - any brand ENET OBD cable (I bought mine off of Amazon. Its the same one that is used for F series) - a laptop with Windows and Teamviewer installed (latest version) - about an hour of your time - $80 for the services of remote coding - if you're interested, you can email to luntik1994@yandex.ru I am sure there are cheaper and more practical ways of doing this, but I am not super savvy with coding past the Bimmercode app so I decided to give this task to someone who knows what they are doing. Disclaimer - I have no personal or financial gains from this in any way. Just thought I'd share. |

That looks lovely. So it definitely is codable somehow. Also, do the shift lights work now? It didn't when we coded the M cockpit alone.

Hi,
on my M340, without coding, display a horizontal tach in HUD & top edge of HUD comes on in yellow or red when telling you to shift -- if in manual shift mode. I can select to display only in Sport mode or all, BUT it cuts into HUD nav display So the pictures above show a tach with the "kink" in it like M cars I've driven. I would like to know how to code this as well as as tire pressure instrument display widget

All M340 cars come with a smaller tach in heads up display.
If you change your cluster to M cluster (looks like the one on M8 or M5) then the standard tachometer goes away which is sad. I had it coded remotely using E sys so I don't know what exactly they changed. However, having the M tach activated on HUD somehow interferes with assisted driving functions. Somehow car thinks that you're in an aggressive driving mode and turns off your cruise control functions. This is an issue and I went back to having my cruise controls work. We are trying to figure out a work around this issue |

I'll try looking for the codes, pretty sure it is isolated to DKOMBI4 changes and HU_MGU. I am going to start isolating every line and find out what each and every code that is configurable with aktiv or non_aktiv does, especially for M_HUD codes.
I will translate the lines with Google Translate and hopefully figure it out. |

Even the horizontal line tach that is the norm for M340s interferes with assisted driving function displays; for that reason, I only have tach displayed when I am in sport mode -- you can select that from CAR, DISPLAYS, HUD Hope that helps!

To dig this up too
Coded the M display through bimmercode (normal mode, not expert) The option to view sport displays on HUD doesn't work at all now, and the digital speed doesn't change colour to red when speeding above the set threshold. Only the circular speed sign flashes. Should this still work or is there anything in expert mode people know of I could fiddle with? |

So I've found this in instrument cluster ecu. Translates to sport view and sport display. All of them are not active in my car. Further down the list is some slightly differently worded sport displays that are active. Wondering if these are the M HUD options?

I see my Tach on my HUD but it doesn't work. There is never any movement in the scale, when I rev engine or drive in any mode the Tach never operates it is just a fixed picture of a tach, it never changes. Maybe there is another setting that I don't know about to activate it? or its just faulty. Does anyone else have this? Thanks. its a M340 by the way

I'd love to get the Tach in the HUD fixed... fancy M or just stock really. Stupid 07/2020:80 update.
